  1. Slight change of subject but can anyone tell me how often children come home from White Lodge as read different reports, some saying 3 weekly as with tring/Elmhurst and someone else said fortnightly?! Could someone with a child there please confirm for me....thank you
  2. Well my experiences with the RBS so far have all been 100% positive, my daughter really enjoyed her audition and brought nothing negative away from it, judges were friendly and smiled at everyone, the lines were not rotated but that was because they were saw 4 at a time from what I can gather and in my dd's audition everyone could be seen by the panel, there was nobody placed behind the panel and there was no laughing just friendly smiles. I think it's nice to hear others experiences but to bear in mind that if they have negative views/experiences then it doesn't mean it's 1) the schools fault or 2) means that you will also have a negative experience. Auditions are an exciting and important time and I think we often try to read too much into what happens in them and try to put reason to everything involved and it easily grows from a natural curiosity to guess work and speculation. I would like to wish everyone waiting on results the best of luck and hope your child gets the results they wish for.....I shall be looking forward to my dd's results letter and having the dreaded audition over and done with and feeling like we can move on with our lives and stop holding our breath .........GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!......
  3. 301223924464 put this item number in eBay, I follow a dance school on Facebook and they use these, I'm thinking on getting one for dd but not sure what strength, hope this helps and they are only £4.99
  4. I was missing something lol.....I've now found the fee's page
  5. Thanks for this post as I had never heard of them before so it was nice to see different options, however I'm assuming that they don't offer funding as I can't find any info on the website about fee's or funding? Or am I missing something??
  6. I ended up getting my daughter some off a shop selling on eBay as all the shops were sold out
  7. Thank you Amber21 I think you put things in perspective with that post and hit the nail on the head so to speak!! ????
  8. Was having similar thoughts Happymum to be honest!! Mixed feelings :/
  9. No sarahw don't sound stroppy at all, you could go around in circles trying to work it out!! All I know for a fact is my dd has a 'm' surname and there were 'p' and 't' surnames before her, so for her audition it wasn't alphabetical as for DOB I have no idea cause I don't know for sure the ages of all the other children

  11. Wow that has really shocked me then as my dd was the last number so that would mean she was the oldest and yet I am almost positive she is not the oldest in her class and nearly all her fellow associates were in the same audition?! Maybe she is the eldest after all, I often fall for the mistake of assuming bigger girls are older as my dd is absolutly tiny it's easy to assume everyone else must be older, when i should know better lol
  12. Thequays the numbers are pre-assigned and 5 mins before audition starts they gather all the children and call out their names and give them their numbers, and from what I saw it wasn't done in alphabetical or age order (I knew a few others in audition from dd's associates class) so not sure how it is worked out whether just at random or if they had some sort of system?? And they are lined at the barre in numerical order.
  13. Omg really Tracey47?!?! Even if all this talk of them knowing who they want within the first couple of minutes is true I still think that common curtacey would be for them to watch every child in that room, and ok it's never going to be 100% fair and their time divided equally between each child, but to actually have children behind them is wrong and I think unfair!! I would not be happy if that were me!! My daughter said that nobody was behind the panel today so maybe the class was over subscribed?
  14. Tulip, I have just walked through the door returning from dd's audition and have asked her and she said yes they were made to do this right at the beginning! Dd enjoyed audition and said it was just the same as her usual class, nothing too hard and said the judges were very friendly and made the children feel comfortable. Not high hope as with most others when the odds are so stached against them but still fingers crossed and let the waiting game commence lol
  15. Oh so sorry to hear your bad news grumpybearzuk and I wish your dd all the best for the future as it may be a no for today but who knows what tomorrow brings!! Xx
  16. I agree fully with the other posts about having a full education up untill 16, my dd is 11 and there are plenty of years ahead of her in which she could change her mind, injure herself or realise a different calling in life.....if she was to give up on her academics now for her ballet training where would that leave her should one of the fore mentioned happen?! At least by getting her GCSE's that leaves her with options should something put a holt to her ballet career/training!
  17. Welcome to the forum gowiththeflo and best of luck to your and farawaydancer's dd's, enjoy the experience
  18. The classes do you mean sarahw? Or the audition? X
  19. Just thought I'd post as I haven't noticed anyone else mention it yet, the MIDAS audition applications are now live on their website for auditions end of May early June.....good luck to anyone auditioning Website link for anyone interested ~ http://www.midas-dance.org.uk
  20. Thank you happymum and yes her main focus is the ballet, we nearly didn't even do Tring as I was so busy I missed the first set of auditions, so was relieved when they put more dates up. To be honest We don't really know anything about Tring other than what we have learnt on here (dd teacher hadn't even heard of it!) so mainly using it as audition experience as dd has never done anything like it before, as in a full day audition. Good luck everyone else with upcoming auditions xx
  21. Loved both of these videos, thank you for sharing ????
  22. My dd also has 27/01, very exciting and thanks for that info happymum I too have been trying to find info about the day on old threads so your post was very helpful. Did anyone's child do the drama piece or plan on doing it, my dd has never done anything like this so not sure what or whether to do something?
  23. Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and best wishes for 2015!!! ????????????????????
