  1. Hello all, I’m having an issue just now where I am trying to order leotards/dance underwear/general dancewear... it seems UK size 12 is ‘large’ and 14 is rarely available as ‘xl’. Are bigger/adult bodies really all that rare in dance classes and dance exams these days? Surely we’ve come so far in pushing for equality. So where is the inclusive dancewear?
  2. This may be an impossible mission but we have a show coming up soon and my teacher is thinking about romantic tutus which will likely have thin straps at the top. The issue is that I am a 34G bra size so need decent support, partly for comfort but also because otherwise it will be quite unsightly. For class, I have found a high impact sports bra that fits under a tank type leotard so that works well but I am wondering what I can do for this costume. My teacher has said that she won't put anyone on stage in something they don't feel comfortable in so she does have some backup ideas but if I can find a solution, I think that the romantic tutus will fit the music well. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions please? I suspect I may have to 'create' something rather than anything off the shelf! Thanks
  3. Hello everyone, I’m just wondering what everyone would recommend wearing to adult beginners ballet class? I’ve only started ballet in September and have been going in my gym kit thus far (black leggings, sports bra and sleeveless tank top). This is what everyone at my local class here is Essex is wearing, but I joined an online beginners class at Pineapple and noticed some people are wearing proper ballet clothes. Going forward I don’t want to turn up looking like I’m not taking it seriously enough to kit myself out properly, but at the same time don’t want to be ‘all the gear and no idea’ 😂 Is there a reason why ballet clothes (tights, skirt and leotard) are better than just gym clothes? Is it easier for the teacher to see what we are doing in proper ballet clothes? Or am I good just to stay in my gym kit? Also where is everyone getting their dancewear from? And do ladies wear a bra under the leotards? (tbh I’ve not got much there in chest dept anyway 😭) sorry for so many questions, but if anyone could give me a heads up on all this I’d be extremely grateful 😊
  4. I’ve had a search but can’t find any recent threads, and I know there are lots of new brands and products. Can anyone recommend period pants that are high legged enough to go under a leotard and come in a colour that won’t show under a leotard? Size 8 would be too big, I think, but better than nothing if nowhere does a size 6. Thanks!
  5. Hi dancers, I wanted to know whether I'm not alone... I've been ballet dancing for about 7 years now and absolutely love it. I regularly wear leotards to classes but find that they are really thin and don't give me much support/cover me around the breast area. So sometimes I wear sports bras to give me the extra coverage. But then the sports bra ruins the whole style of leotards (especially low backs, mesh, camisole thin straps). I've tried some skin covered innerwear from Bloch and Capezio but don't think they cut it, it's still thin enough that you can still see my nipples protrude!? Does anyone else relate?
  6. Hiya, if you've ever purchased anything from Capezio, can you please fill out this survey for my fashion research? It is anonymous and should only take about 5 minutes, thank you! http://freeonlinesurveys.com/s/3bpffTlm
