  1. I wouldn't worry about not having privates , sometimes you can gain just as much from a group class where you can compare yourself to others .
  2. Upper school auditions are very competitive , information on your application form can decide where your placed on audition day and whether your in a good position to be noticed. Some upper school auditions are very crowded.
  3. Rambert. has 18 year olds in yr 1
  4. Just saw live screening Giselle, was fantastic ! It was nice to see cinema packed with a mixture of age groups.
  5. I have bought cinema tickets for wed evening live screening, does anyone know which principals will be dancing?

  7. I think also it doesn't help when their dancing and sweating all day, since my DD moved to London she says the waters not the same and says it affects her skin , don't know if it's a combination of the two .
  8. Ah if that's the case then Sim, then why the narrow minded response .
  9. You obviously haven't seen a great deal of contemporary ! Just saw Ramberts 3 dancers program, it was a sell out and no rolling around the floor in the dark!
  10. We had the afternoon audition, then solo and physio and then interview , if I was you I would book a flexible train ticket so you have a choice of trains should you be later than expected, we ended up having to buy another ticket.
  11. We were offered a place at ballet west in October last year and waited till February to decide .

  14. Not every one who teaches GCSE dance is untrained or unqualified to teach dance or a PE teacher. Legseleven as you said your DD wasn't considering it even if it was an option , well you certainly seem to be an expert on the content of the course!
  15. Obviously your experience is still pretty raw
  16. Well I disagree, my DD is a serious dance student, has completed all the R AD vocational exams and is very academic at school. This GCSE dance is not a n easy option, there is a lot of written work and I would say for someone who wants to go into the dance profession it can only compliment their training. You study about different choreographers and learn how to choreograph a group dance amongst other things , so what if some students aren't at your standard its all good experience working with people at different levels you never know when you have to put this into practice!
