  1. Haven't received ours yet and neither has anybody else I know. Must receive them in the next couple of days!!
  2. Does anybody have any experience of South East Ballet Scholars? DS auditioning on Sunday and was hoping for some info from current Scholars. Also do you know how long the results from the audition will take?
  3. I know a girl who couldn't get right down in the "Achilles check" at her SA audition for RBS. She was actually quite tight there. She was still accepted though.
  4. On another note, as my DD loved it so much I've been investigating the other options such as LJB and Tring. Does anyone know if you audition in November for Tring and get through, do you start in the January? Are there fewer children auditioning then? Is LJB very difficult to get into? Auditions are in September again as we missed the May ones... Sorry for all the questions! Thanks all, I love this forum, it's a whole new world to me! :-) Yes if they audition in November, for Tring CBA and get offered a place, they start in January. There doesn't seem to be any difference in numbers applying in November as opposed to May. I don't know about LJB sorry.
  5. My DS was at London yesterday. They said they had a huge amount of boys auditioning this year so they had questionnaires there for us to fill in as they would like to know why. Anyway my DS said he did box splits and frogs. He did say he did frogs on front and back. He really enjoyed the audition though. Good luck to any DD's auditioning this week.
  6. I was wondering how the fundraising was going? Can anybody let us know please?
  7. I think Just Ballet sell jet glue! May be mistaken though
  8. My Mum made me do the 'tampon trial' I was boarding at vocational school so she made me do it one summer holiday. Luckily she did as I went back to school in September and started my first weekend back. I think she left it a bit late though as I was 14! It was no big deal though as I felt prepared because of my practise. Am planning on doing the same with my DD.
  9. Swan princess what fantastic news. Good on you!! Enjoy every single minute xx
  10. My DD hasn't started yet. She is starting in September. She isn't a ballet dancer and doesn't want to be but is happy at the amount of ballet that she will be getting as she understands the necessity of it. She just could not have that amount of hours at home. The one drama and one choir lesson a week is on the timetable for yrs 7 - 9 (not necessarily together though!) Obviously the singing is part of a group so shouldn't make anybody feel too stressed. My DD will be having a private singing lesson a week too to keep that side up. She can't wait to get there! I am under the impression that all her classes for the first year will be non syllabus but once she gets to yr8 she can start vocational RAD classes on a Saturday. Not sure when the modern and tap exams start. She is a very lucky girl.
  11. Tring have 2 hours of ballet most mornings in yr 7. The days they don't have 2 hours they have an hour and a half. They have one drama and one choir lesson, modern, tap and conditioning. The focus is mainly on ballet. Miss Rachel said it ends up being 10 hours of ballet a week.
  12. Yes we received ours today too. DS is on Tuesday at 3pm Good luck to everyone.
  13. I only have experience of Tring. The academics there are excellent for all parts of the school. They offer a very varied A level programme too. The lower school first to third form (yrs7-9) have their vocational classes in the morning and academics in the afternoon, with prep after tea. The senior school 4th- 5th form (yrs10-11) are the other way round. Fantastic teaching in small, set classes and they achieve very good results for all abilities. Pupils have gone on to very academic careers if they choose not to carry on with a vocational career.
  14. I emailed and enquired on Friday. They replied that they were hoping to get London auditions out Friday or today. We must hear today surely!!
  15. Fingers crossed that my DD gets to do Nutcracker with ENB this year. I did it for 3 years when I was at Tring. Would be lovely. Well the first year would be!!
  16. Rambert is dance only. No singing at audition. Tring dance course is no singing at audition either.
  17. Thank you Juliew. But silly even thinking about times. He hasn't even auditioned yet and the chances of a place are so slim, as we all know!!
  18. Thank you Flora11. I like to know!!
  19. Can anybody confirm that the yr4 JA class is at 12 in London? Even for the boys?
  20. I watched the choreography show Thursday evening. It was absolutely amazing. It made DD even more excited, and grateful, to be starting in September. She is a very lucky girl.
  21. Yes give Hammond a call to put your mind at rest. Not too much longer and hopefully all the stress will be over!
  22. Have decided this vocational school lark is extremely stressful! If you would prefer a more dance based course then I would be inclined to stick with Hammond, as it has been offered, and also Elmhurst if that is offered. Hammond won't take the offer of a place away now next week is just for funding. Good luck!!
  23. Where is your dd first choice Willow04? Added stress when Tring want a quick decision. Is that for an MDS place? We were given a few weeks for the non funded place if we wanted to register.
  24. Good luck to everyone at finals today x
  25. I think it is about 2 weeks before. Too late for the cheap train tickets!
