  1. Lemongirl my dd is in dorm 7 too! She loves it but has barely contacted us this week!! Having far too much fun. She is the 10 yr old in the top bunk! I am really looking forward to Friday. My dd has already said she wants to go for 2 weeks next year x
  2. Fantastic news kiwimum6. Bet you have a very happy house!! X
  3. My DD would definitely love it. She is 10 and would need to be residential as we are miles from anywhere!!
  4. Yes had seen that before but she was a little flummoxed by it. Ha ha. She said well we are always told to put our heels down! Interesting to see info re injury rate. It obviously can't pose a problem for them otherwise they wouldn't do it.
  5. Yes we have seen it. Lovely to have an insight into another school. My DD was a bit bemused by them not putting their heels down whilst jumping as we do over here.
  6. Tring Park Associates offer all those on a Saturday. I think their current timetable on their website isn't up to date but I have septembers and all this classes are listed. We are going to be doing the same ie Tring on Saturdays for syllabus classes and couple of extras and then London on Sundays when not at CBA. Good luck!
  7. Tring still do theatre arts scholarships. I think they are only worth about 30% of fees though.
  8. They aren't building on the grass, as far as I am aware. I think they are building back towards new block, where the loos are. The art room etc will be demolished and the new theatre will be there. So I think it's a big building alongside the current new block and clock house. Sorry if that isn't very clear!!
  9. Toilets are part of the next phase of the build. It will link the current Park studios, new build, to a new theatre. Exciting stuff once the funding has been raised!!
  10. My DD audition was Monday and they definitely said they were sending them out for the first time by email, early July. It would be lovely if they were earlier than that though.
  11. Rainbowmagic we received an email on Monday. I suppose it isn't in your junk folder? Says what group and time for audition. I hope you resolve it soon. Let us know how you get on.
  12. Swanprincess next year is definitely your year!! Xx
  13. Well the worry hopefully for you has eased a bit as you now have your offer from Ballet Theatre UK. I too would personally go Central if the offer does come but otherwise at least you have a full time place for September. Well done!!!
  14. I know of a British girl that has been offered a place at Rambert. She has turned it down though and taken Laine. She was also offered a scholarship at london Studio Centre. Lucky girl! Good luck everybody and the waiting must be awful xx
  15. Hi Does anybody have experience of Tring Park Associates? My DD currently attends the CBA and we are really pleased with the teaching. I am wondering how much the associate children get 'pushed' in lessons and how successful some of them are with auditions for vocational school for year 7?
  16. Premier inn at Hemel Hempstead West is good. We always stay there. My DS has his audition for CBA that morning too so we are staying the night before as audition is at 9. What time is yours?
  17. Ha ha Lemongirl. My DD did the Easter school at Tring last week and absolutely loved it. She had friends that went with her so I'm a bit worried about her going alone in the summer. She isn't worried as she says she will do anything to be a dancer. How old is your DD?
  18. Application form has been sent off. My DD going week 2 and will have just turned 10. She won't know anybody else there although she says she isn't worried about that. I think the reality may be a little different though. I am sure she will have a great time. Anybody else going week 2?
  19. The website has come up on my phone. I just printed the application form off! Week 1 11th-15th Week 2 18th-22nd Hope that helps x Edited as I had written form instead of phone!
  20. My son loves it. He is pestering me for the next one but obviously it isn't available over here yet. I think it's absolutely brilliant to have a cool ballet book for boys. It really was long overdue.
  21. Fingers crossed then! Thanks for your help.
  22. Thank you so much for the replies. Half for second child!! It would kill us to do the first. At least I know now. Thank you!
  23. This has been niggling me for ages and I know some of you will know the answer, especially kiwimum6!! If you have a child at vocational school with an MDS what happens if a younger sibling is also awarded an MDS? How could you pay the parental contribution for both children as obviously it is means tested or do you just pay for the first and once they leave start paying the parental contribution for the second? I am sure we would never be in that position but am intrigued! Many thanks
  24. For The Pickford Winter School classes in January you need to email thepickfords@hotmail.co.uk Am sure it will be great.
  25. Brilliant. Thanks for the replies. My dd can't wait. I did presume she would stay in mansion but wanted to check. She is 9 and luckily a friend is going with her so we have requested that they stay together. She is really excited but apprehensive about being away from home for so long as she is a real home girl. Boarding is what puts her off going away at 11 so I am really interested to see how she copes with it.
