  1. In which ballet is there at least three occasions where a flower is thrown or dropped?
  2. When the box office resells a ticket the original purchaser does get their money back, minus £2 handling charge.
  3. Something south of the river sounds like a good idea, and if near Waterloo it has bus links with Sadlers Wells. Sorry, John, but I think this sort of venture needs to be fairly central so that the multitude who live out of London, or even the outskirts of London, and use public transport need to be able to get home late in the evening. If not south of the river, an alternative that may be considered is that Sadlers Wells is close to City University. A link there might be advantageous.
  4. It needs all sorts. Some people go to the theatre for the complete theatrical experience, some for the pure dance, and some for any or all points including these and in between. (And some who start with the the "theatrical experience" as a special outing could then get hooked on the pure dance.)
  5. There were at least two critics in on Friday for McRae / Takada performance
  6. In addition to the item in today's links about the research on dizziness, there was an item on this morning's Radio4 Today programme, "Why don't ballet dancers get dizzy when pirouetting?", including an interview with and demonstration from Deborah Bull, which can be heard and seen on the entertainment and arts section of the BBC News website.
  7. Yes, they offered me a swap - and I have a ticket for the Giselle matinee!
  8. I had a phone message today to tell me that for the two performances on Saturday 25th Jan, the casts have been swapped round. It's now the Cope / Hay cast at the matinee, and the Harrod / Ondiviela(?) cast in the evening.
  9. None of the standing slips look as if they're held. It looks like AA 1-5 for all I looked at. And then any that students haven't bought in their priority time become available for the public booking, as I understand it. And it looks like stalls circle standing D 35-39 are also held
  10. A few more seats now showing available for Hansel and Gretel 24th Jan.
  11. And Stalls Circle Standing D11-15 are some of the places being held for the special student booking.
  12. So will somebody be taking over his role in Hansel and Gretel? Best wishes to him, anyway.
  13. I, too, regret that the opportunity has not been taken of bringing out a new Juliet from within the RB.
  14. I've often commented on this scheduling problem. BBC has no problem scheduling football matches. I accept there are (probably) more people wanting to watch football than ballet, but why can't we have as much ballet per month as there is football per week?
  15. We each have our own likes / opinions, but for me the RB has, in (alphabetical order) Bonelli, Kish, Pennefather, three excellent danseur noble.
  16. Ricardo Cervera is a participant, and there's a masterclass on The Dream? Oh please, for next summer's performance - please, please.....
  17. I was standing in the stalls circle, so not worried by the floor as were you higher people. However, although I thought it all looked very pretty, what have they done to the choreography? I thought it was insipid.
  18. And Tamara's one of the people on BBC2 this evening on Proms Extra (19.30) reviewing the week's concerts, including Bolero.
  19. Perhaps they should add an announcement about not blocking the cooling system when they request mobiles etc be switched off.
  20. And check street closures / bus diversions. I think I saw a notice about a run taking place, not sure where in London it'll be.
  21. If you work in IT like I did, long long ago, you write the instructions and despair when users don't read them! If I'd had youtube back then, what ballet mimes could I have used to help those users?
  22. I found myself in conversation with a couple when we had to unexpectedly change trains at a station because of points (the train variety!) problem. They told me they'd been to see "SWAN LAKE" (their emphasis) at the "ALBERT HALL". They didn't know the company and didn't know who they'd seen dancing. On looking in their programme at the biography photos, they picked out Matthew Golding and Dara (right on Matthew, but it was Tamara). They enjoyed it very much, and were surprised to learn they can see the Royal Ballet at ROH for much less than they paid for their Albert Hall tickets. I also told them to check the Coliseum.
