Fri 10th for us. Looks like they have lots of audition days. Not been in the buildings or know much about the school so hoping audition day will give us a feel for the place. Good luck to your dd - shame we're not there on the same day.

I think the email said in January, but not specific. The yr 11s who are auditioning for senior entry have their audition on Monday, so it would be helpful to them to have the assessment feedback before the day, but not much time left now.

Hi Loulabelle, I asked this question at the prelims and was told by a financial lady that non boarding was not an option. I was thinking in the context of a host family; not sure what their thoughts are if you live locally. The fees are pretty scary and I was trying to think of possible alternatives to reduce the cost.

Sorry to hear you have not got what you wanted yet, but I'm sure there is something out there for you. Have you spoken to your uni careers adviser? I think it's also possible to see one at a uni near to your home under reciprocal arrangement agreements if that is easier for you. Keep us posted on your progress.

I'm finding it hard too, Flora. It's tough that we don't know when we will know - I think that's one of the hardest things for me as I am an organiser and prefer to be in control! Dd is also at Elmhurst finals in March, so we may see you there. At least when there are finals, you hear when the results are out, which I think is better than the wondering I will do about when we will hear from places which don't hold finals.

Thanks for this information. Have results come out yet and if so, do you know if there is any link between those asked to do solos and offers made? Useful to be forewarned about over running too.

Very happy to share info about audition processes etc, but so far dd has only been to Elmhurst. I posted quite a bit about that on the Elmhurst thread. Hammond and Tring next week, so will feedback about those when they are done. Pleased to hear about others' experiences if anyone has information to share.

WavePad audio editor in the App Store is the one dd's teacher recommended. Dd downloaded the free one and was easily able to do what she needed with cutting to 1 minute on her iPad. I think teacher has a more sophisticated version which cost about £8. I'm sorry I can't copy and paste the link on my phone, but it did the job.

There may well be support available through your local authority - pointers towards expectations, resources, exams etc. Some LAs have a team/person and it could take away some of the stress for you. Dd has several home educated dancing friends and I think it can offer a completely different approach which seems to work really well for them. -

Nearest is Travel Lodge (walking distance) but have no idea if it's an ok one. Have had good stays at Doubletrees, also v close, but it can be pricey if you don't get a deal. Several premier inns a short drive away and anything you find in Hoole is about 10 mins in the car. Good luck!

Please can anyone offer any insight into RBS upper school audition timings (London 5th Feb)? I'm trying to sort travel and am keen to know what time we might be free to leave. Info from last year much appreciated, thanks.

Thank you - I hope it will be for sale, but I know that productions have been filmed in the past and no DVD was forthcoming. One I have has chunks missing for copyright reasons too.
