  1. We had dd's photos done and emailed to me. I found a print your own photo booth in my local Morrisons (and a very helpful young woman who was happy to help.) It was possible to plug phone in to cable provided on the booth or use a USB port if the photos were saved to a memory stick. Good luck!
  2. Not as far as I can see, but Rambert popped up on Friday, although rather jumbled when looking on my phone.
  3. They have 4 days of dance course auditions advertised, all in the same week, day 1 clashing with the only senior audition date school are prepared to offer according to the letter. However, that one doesn't have to be accepted till nearer Christmas, so will possibly wait and see.
  4. Thank you Loulabelle - I think that's a good idea too. Does anyone know if Rambert favour a particular day of the week for their auditions please?
  5. The January week for the dance course is the same week as dd has to do her own school seniors audition and it's quite possile that some of the other schools she is interested in will turn out to be during that week too. Not quite sure if it's best to get application off and ask to swap dates if there's a clash or wait for the other schools to publish dates. Also not sure of the wisdom of several auditions in the same week either if it can be avoided. Decisions decisions! Edited for typo
  6. It went to school, not the boarding house and then the replacement didn't turn up. Finally home now!
  7. Hope we will be happy here - Dd sitting on runway at Manchester after yet another taxi nightmare ending with a member of boarding staff kindly taking her to the airport!
  8. Thanks for this Emma, we are just trying to pick audition leotards for Dd, who fancies moving from her usual black to plum/dark purple. She was quite keen on a bit of lace or mesh but reading your post makes me think perhaps not! I have been trawling web sites and would welcome any suggestions if anyone has spotted anything that might fit the bill. Thank you
  9. Colouring book and pens, bits of make up and chocolate! And more chocolate!
  10. 9th November confirmed! Email had gone astray so glad I called! ????
  11. Thank you - hopefully we'll hear soon. I know of someone who rang today and was told there were still spaces in the November audition.
  12. Class ballet, jazz and tap is done in year groups and will depend on the number of dancers in that academic year. Dd has been in groups as small as about a dozen and most has been about 18. RAD is split into grades, so will vary depending on who is in that grade at the time. I think from taking to friends, different year groups have different experiences. Happy to try to answer more if you want to know anything sprcific????
  13. Anyone heard back in response to their application yet? It's only September and I'm impatient already!
  14. Dd's application for yr 12 is in - just waiting to hear now. Anyone know if it's letter or email response from them?
  15. I thought exactly the same Loulabelle! Mind you, by the time she could audition they'll probably be back to looking for littleies!!
  16. Thank you Peanut68 - we made it and weren't too tired. Even managed an hour at Cribbs to get those last few bits!
  17. Thank you for flagging this up Happymum. Need to get on with it now too!
  18. We land at 1.00am on Wed morning and after a night in the airport hotel take Dd back to school later that day. Just hope the car with all her stuff in is still at the airport...!!
  19. So touched to read your son's story. We have just received some distressing news about our grandson's health and it's good to have a reminder that there can be a positive outcome. I hope I am posting something similar to this at some time in the future. Good luck to your son.
  20. Great news re the change of date - NOT! We're in USA celebrating dh's 50th. Did they just expect us to notice it? Grrrrrr
  21. The amount of wall space is a bit hit and miss, depending on which bed in which dorm, but Dd has always used blu tac.
  22. I completely agree with Dr. Dance that all schools should have safeguarding policies that are fit for purpose, regular teacher cpd in this area and where a school is registered with an exam board/boards, these should be the regulatory bodies that check that policies are in place and effective. I think that lobbying exam boards to be more stringent in their requirements and checking is a good way forward. They also need to demonstrate support and take appropriate action to investigate when a concern is raised. Preventing unsafe schools from entering exams and sanctioning their registrations is one thing that will make them sit up and take notice as they will not be able to hide it from parents.
  23. Don't think Dd has used an iron there in 4 years! I think the laundry comes back 'ready to wear!'
