  1. Have you tried washing them inside out? This may or may not work but may be worth a try.
  2. Thanks for this idea - ENB are due to be doing the nutcracker at the end of the month near me so I will try then
  3. Thank you, I will give that a try. This is exactly what I had been thinking. It would be nice to maybe see individual prints available from the swan lake photo book that was recently released as well as more shots available of other company members.
  4. I was hoping to find some prints of either dancers themselves or ones of scenes from the main ballets. I am hoping the attached picture will show but we had these hung up in my school dance studios which is what I would like however I cannot find these except for on google images.
  5. Hi, I was just wondering if any knew of anywhere that you can buy ballet posters/prints from? I’ve had a look on the ROH website but I was hoping to find some cheaper ones. I also looked on amazon but they didn’t have what I was looking for. TIA
  6. An interesting piece just shared by the Royal Ballet school. https://www.royalballetschool.org.uk/2019/10/31/ballet-training-how-much-is-enough/
  7. I think they said it would be 30 days then after that would be snippets of the main bits.
  8. I’m not sure how much this will help but one thing I have always been taught is to never mark work without fully extending the arm movements. I think the line of thought there is that the arms will naturally move to their positions without much thought which then gives you the capacity to allow your brain to be thinking about the leg movements without having to think too much about the arms. At home, where space is limited and it was coming up to an exam, I would always play the music through some headphones and practise the arms movements and run through the movements of my legs in my mind and the two would come together without much thought in class. I am not sure how much help this would be for you though although it may be worth a try.
  9. Hi Michelle, Thank you for your response and that information although unfortunately it is now inessential for me as I have decided to go down the nursing route rather than that of dance teaching! Although I am sure it may be useful for anyone else who is considering teaching 😊
  10. If they are in a good condition as you stated then could you not sell them and then use that money to pay for new shoes? That way they are still getting used, your younger dd has the correct shoes and you’re not having to waste your time painting and repainting shoes
  11. @Moonbeamhow long has your DD been in the primary class for? The RAD specs have a guideline on how many hours a child should spend on each grade before taking the exam and moving onto the next and it states that for the Primary exam they should have 40 hours of teaching.
  12. I would recommend contacting the schools directly, however I don’t think this should be an issue as there are students from Scotland who start their degrees aged 17 due to the different cut off that they have for deciding school years.
  13. Well done to your DD! I have spoken to my current dance teacher and she has said that she would be happy to assist me through the process. I was wondering, how does it work in regards to The help that you get from the RAD and the teaching of the course? Particularly in regards to it being long distance?
  14. Thank you for that information. I will have a look into it however it would involve me moving away from home, something that I am trying to avoid which is why I am considering the CBTS course as it is distance learning.
  15. Hi, I was just wondering if anybody has any experience of the above course, more particularly of that of the long distance study? I am currently trying to weigh up my options for post 18 study and with UCAS looming in the new school year, I am hoping to have my options decided in time for going back in September. I have always wanted to go down the dance teaching route however I am not sure whether it would be worth doing a basic degree first to keep my options open but then I am not sure how this would then work in regards to student finance etc. Any advice or information that could be given would be greatly appreciated 😊
  16. There is one in Preston called the Dancer’s Wardrobe. It’s a reasonable shop and would be useful if it was just convertible tights that are needed
  17. I don’t think there has been a direct entry into the RB corps for a couple of years since the introduction of the Aud Jebsen programme.
  18. Thank you! I’ll have a look at both to see. Once they have replied I will let you know En pointe in Greasby is owned by a teacher that was covering at my old dance school for maternity leave so if you were considering classes there I would definitely recommend it ☺️

  20. Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows of any schools that do the RAD discovering repertoire classes in the north west? Preferably by within easy travelling distance of Liverpool? I’ve contacted the RAD headquarters but I’m yet to receive a reply. TIA
  21. I’m not sure what the rules are here surrounding naming students but I follow one of the girls from Australia who is in RBS 6:1 but she is currently out of dancing and recovering from an injury.
  22. So I keep seeing videos social media of boys of an advanced level on pointe and I was just wondering why this is the case? Said videos are typically of them doing the basic exercises to warm up the feet which made me wonder if it is to help strengthen their feet? I know in the RB’s version of A Midsummers Night Dream, Bottom is on pointe however this is the only example I had come across in which a male dancer has a role which involves such a task
