  1. If it were possible to add a new piece to the repertoire, I’d love to see the RB harnessing a year of pent up energy to explode onstage with Forsythe’s ‘Playlist’
  2. The effervescence and joyousness that is Symphony in C to celebrate the uncorking of the ROH 2021 vintage 🥂
  3. I don’t think that Christmas is cancelled. Most people, including myself, have sadly had to cancel or rethink their people, places and plans for the Christmas period due to a global pandemic. This is indeed unfortunate and I wish that things were different. Nevertheless there is still much joy to be found in discovering new things, doing things differently or in doing things that I never had time for in previous years. E.g. I was going to feed on ROH Nuts as a part of my Christmas celebrations. Instead I have the opportunity to feast on a Global Mixed Nut Selection from around the world. Not the same, but it will be equally enjoyable if I allow myself to enjoy it. Just as COVID doesn’t recognise Christmas, Christmas isn’t cancelled due to COVID. It It may not be what I anticipated, but Christmas is still Christmas and will happen as always on December 25th. Merry Christmas one and all 🔔 🎄 🎁 🩰
  4. Much to enjoy in a production that fires the imagination combining the joy of dance and richness of theatre to create an original narrative of a boy discovering a world of colour and excitement in contrast with the grey world outside. (NB Given the links currently being made in football about dementia and heading a football, having the boy head the ball repeatedly as a part of his “trick routine” may not have been a wise choice.)

  6. great pics Rob. Btw that must be why the dancers are so good, because they’ve been at the barre all day 🤣
  7. keep checking the ROH website, there are tickets being put onsale every day. Good luck
  8. Perhaps they’ve increased the tempo of the music so that the dancers spend less time in proximity to one another? 🤔
  9. I hope I’m proven wrong but my reading of BRB website is that either I can buy a ticket to see the live stream on 18/12 or I can buy a ticket to watch on demand for a period of three consecutive days between 19/12 and 24/12 that kicks in from my first viewing. Buying a ticket for the live stream on 18/12 wouldn’t appear to allow me to watch again on demand. As I say, I hope I’m wrong.
  10. ENB Nutcracker Delights is 75mins no interval RB is 120 mins with an interval I believe
  11. Am very keen to get a ticket for the Christmas Eve performance as it’s been a tradition for many years. Hopefully someone can help me... thanks
  12. or not, I’d prefer safety first rather than going to the max determined by an arbitrary guideline
  13. hi for those able to book already, I see there are two selections: single/pairs & group. Does anyone know if groups are 3 or more? Thanks
  14. I’ve suddenly been overtaken with that ‘Cinderella’ feeling 🩰
  15. it was a very short tour, a taster really. Each timeslot had 4 bubbles of up to 6 people who maintained social distancing from each other. There were 3 opera costumes to peruse supervised by a knowledgeable Thurrock archivist in the foyer whilst waiting for the tour to start. Then downstairs into the Linbury for a short video presentation on ROH. After we were led through the Kings room up onto the main stage. Verbal presentation/history of the building (my tour was David Pickering and Christina Arestis) Q&A and selfie moment. Out to ground floor coffee bar and shop. Smooth, efficient and safe. Well done to everyone involved with planning and execution.
  16. It was a terrific feeling to be back in the ROH, to be made to be feel welcome by enthusiastic and knowledgeable staff who were proud to show off the building to their visitors. A small movement in the right direction 🙏🏻
  17. Meanwhile I received this re RPO & BRB from the Royal Albert Hall today: ” 21 September 2020 Royal Philharmonic Orchestra presents: The Beauty of Ballet | Wednesday 4 November 2020, 7.30pm | new date confirmed We are writing to inform you that the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra’s The Beauty of Ballet has been rescheduled due to the coronavirus pandemic. This event will now take place on Wednesday 10 November 2021
  18. I’ve decided to ditch any expectations and preconceptions that I might have and view this and other ‘live’ streams as a ‘new’ art form and judge them solely on their merits.
  19. thank you so much for flagging this up as it wasn’t on my radar. what a refreshing and inventive perspective on Swan Lake this turned out to be as it unfolded before me. a shot of joy on a lockdown Monday night. gorgeously danced and beautifully staged in a futuristic kingdom. this was also intelligently filmed making it a pleasure to watch on the small screen of my laptop. the only small bone I have to pick is that Odile’s entrance was so subtle I missed it and I had to rewind to watch it again.
  20. sadly you’re right. is there anybody out there who knows how to get round this obstacle?
  21. Paris Opera & Ballet will be screening various operas and ballets in the coming weeks. If I understand correctly available via www.operadeparis.fr https://www.lefigaro.fr/musique/l-opera-de-paris-met-en-ligne-gratuitement-ses-spectacles-pendant-le-confinement-20200316?fbclid=IwAR1g9tgzOGTs8qnxrrnb_tsfVOFfL-yDXGHTC0dFVqgmGKaQkf1r4VlJPq0
  22. Akane & Federico Natalia & Reece Nella & Vadim What a privilege to have seen these pairings dance together during this run, supported by a world-beating cast, corps and off-stage crew both behind and front of house. And, such upcoming riches to anticipate with 7 more, different pairings, all now suspended indefinitely, for the common good, for as long as it takes. I sincerely wish for everyone who works at the ROH and equally everyone who attends too to come out of this crisis healthy and well. Look after yourselves, look out for one another 🩰🤗🙏🏻
  23. I’ve had an email from the Old Vic. The remaining 2 weeks of Endgame have been cancelled.
