  1. The good news is that the expanded “Playlist EP” will be performed as part of The Forsythe Evening at Sadlers Wells 31/3-10/4 2022
  2. Am pleased to learn via Instagram that James H and Meaghan GH will be dancing Bluebird tomorrow night
  3. i posted this yesterday on the thread about single seats: ”If anyone is interested, when I looked this morning, 16th June, there were single seats available on the ROH website for most performances of the Beauty Mixed Bill including Amphi, Balcony, Stalls Circle & Orchestra Stalls.”
  4. I was told recently that Mats Ek had been working with dancers at the ROH. I wasn’t told anything else.
  5. For me, the most exciting part of this announcement is Don Quixote. A shot of pure joy to lift the spirits 😀👏🏻
  6. If anyone is interested, when I looked this morning, 16th June, there were single seats available on the ROH website for most performances of the Beauty Mixed Bill including Amphi, Balcony, Stalls Circle & Orchestra Stalls.
  7. well, it’s described as a re-telling of the story with a remix of the Delibes score so perhaps names and maybe more have been modified too. It’s aroused my curiosity.
  8. Official London Theatre have just emailed me an offer for Weds, Thurs & Sunday performances of this programme. Book online to receive 33% off. Promo Code OLT21
  9. Have just come out of watching this at Sadlers Wells. What a delightful, uplifting and refreshing evening we have enjoyed. Perhaps pared down in numbers but the simplicity of the staging enhanced and emphasised the choreography with the music underscoring the tumultuous emotions of the characters. Wonderful to watch a narrative ballet once again.
  10. Perhaps she’s just rehearsing it for fun? That’s the answer I received from an ENB dancer when I asked him why he was learning to dance en pointe 🩰
  11. Just a thought but perhaps the performances are spread out over several months in case there has to be another lockdown at some point. Also maybe there will still be rehearsal and performance bubbles for dancers etc. going forwards which might mean not being able to dance two pieces simultaneously as was possible in the past. With these precautions in place each show has the maximum chance of going on, at least for some dates, and all will not be lost?
  12. I saw the similarities too. In fact Solo Echo (2012) preceded Flight Pattern (2017) so perhaps Pite developed her themes from the earlier into the later piece.
  13. My experience is that the ROH has worked tirelessly to support & maintain its performers and to bring them back onstage at the earliest opportunity to entertain and delight us. Demand for a limited supply of tickets far ourstrips the supply currently permitted by Government restrictions. No one, anywhere, is perfect, no one can get everything right. Rather than criticise, I want to applaud everyone involved in doing such a magnificent job in bringing live performances back the very day that they are allowed by the Government. Many other theatres & arts organisations are not doing so. I certainly understand and share the frustration of others who have wanted to buy single seats. On Friday I was rendering my head hairless in my frustration. I took a breath (several in fact) and, putting things in perspective, realised that this situation of social distancing and a reduced capacity is only temporary and, as things stand, (fingers crossed) will not continue beyond this short Spring/Summer season. Looking at the bigger picture, even pre-pandemic I didn’t always get the seats that I wanted. And that was when all seats in the house were available for many more performances than can currently be offered. Pent-up demand for many events at all arts and sports venues has led to a booking frenzy this past couple of weeks. It isn’t just the ROH whose supply cannot match demand in these exceptional circumstances. Also, don’t give up hope of seats yet. I was told that there was such a booking frenzy last week that many seats are already being returned for resale as patrons check their diaries and are realising that they can’t attend on the dates booked. Box Office staff have been working over the weekend dealing with all the extra workload that has resulted from these returns.
  14. “For our Spring/Summer Programme we are limiting tickets to a maximum of 4 tickets per performanceand these will be allocated in singles and pairs only, until further notice. In line with current guidance, we ask that you only attend performances with individuals from your own household or bubble. Details of our catering offer and how to book will be sent to ticket bookers nearer their performance dates. Thank you for your understanding.” this was in the email I received
  15. Frustrating not to know the dates yet of RB performances as ENB and NBT are now onsale at Sadlers Wells.
  16. Perhaps a little off-topic but its a fund-raiser for BRB community programmes. As such I have my fingers crossed that BRB and it’s outreach programmes will have a major part in Opening & Closing ceremonies for Commonwealth Games 2022.
