Royal Ballet Sleeping Beauty, 2019-20
San Perregrino replied to annamk's topic in Performances seen & general discussions
I thought I’d posted a reply but maybe gremlins are at work so here goes again and apologies if it’s a repeat: thanks for clarifying @Thalia I was aware that Matty had already danced bluebird but not who his partner was. Perhaps in the upcoming performances he will also be partnered by Magri. Whomever it is, we shall see on the days in question.- 954 replies

Nahhdi/Ball have already danced bluebird this run. I missed it! Am told that, all being well, they will dance both tomorrow evening and the live screening next Thursday. 🙏🏻- 954 replies

Audience Behaviour
San Perregrino replied to Jan McNulty's topic in Performances seen & general discussions
The man sitting in front of me this evening had a prime seat (OS H27) and a clear view of the stage with no obstacles. However he definitely didn’t want to be there as he fidgeted non stop throughout and was saying goodbye to his companion and ran out the door as soon as the curtain fell. Me wonders why some people bother attending at all. -
ENB, Le Corsaire, January 2020

Adding to the talk about high kicks, from where I was sitting I was also astounded by the height achieved by Erik Woolhouse as Birbanto. A memorable evening for so many reasons. -

Hi have sent a PM Peter -
For no particular reason I thought to check the Scottish Ballet website 2 mins into the programme which has a synopsis of the story. Without that I’d have been completely lost and wondering why a character with a strong resemblance to Dora the Explorer was central to the story. No way would I have identified her as the Summer Princess.

Hi could I please have one ticket? I’ll PM you -
Long ago I planned a lovely long weekend in Paris to see Raymonda, Le Parc and the Ballet School. I am none the wiser in respect of these performances as having negotiated a seat on a train not cancelled by Eurostar I arrived in Paris to daily messages saying my booked performances were cancelled. Cancellations are only announced on the day itself as the strikers have until a few hours before curtain up to declare themselves. The public transport strike is said to be rolling up until Christmas with a risk that performances will continue to be cancelled. Notwithstanding my disappointment re the above, Paris is brimming with things to do and wandering around is awesome at this time of year. It really is a City of Light and the French know how to do Christmas 🎄🎄🎄

My friend’s daughter’s school in Bromley were given tickets to the Sunday evening programme. They attended and were very positive about what they saw. I didn’t see this programme so cannot comment on its content but am pleased that the producers did at least outreach to the paying audiences of the future.
