  1. We paid the application fee for my JA DD too. We did get email reminders about applying for WL and SS, and encouragement to apply for WL, but I don’t think DD is at any advantage over other children. All SS applications are assessed on photos only xx
  2. We haven’t heard about a London audition yet. It’s normally a bit nearer the time, I think.
  3. RBS have an Easter intensive. I think it is age 12+.
  4. You have to be at all rehearsals without exception. Even illness is a bit frowned on, I gather!
  5. What is the format of the audition, please? How does the same-day recall work? Is there still a final audition later in the month? (Sorry... so many questions!)
  6. A quick question for those that have already started classes: how do you take the skirt to class? In a costume bag? I can't quite bear to shove it in the dance bag with shoes and water bottle!
  7. But they are so beautiful! Dressmaker was expensive, but the 'gulp' of shock at the cost was soon forgotten when I saw it on my DD!
  8. I emailed them about returning the first leotard, and they said that they recommended signed-for delivery as they couldn't refund until they had received it back... it sounds like it can be returned xx
  9. Great news that your school is so supportive! So glad Eastleigh is Saturday only, as I work Mon-Fri. I ordered a 2, which is DD's normal leotard size, but it does seem to come up big. She wears age 9-10 in normal clothes, but her height is mostly leg. I've now also ordered a size 1 so we can pick the best one and send the other back, but I wish I had ordered both in the first place, as we have forked out twice for postage! Good luck with finding the perfect fit! xx
  10. Has anyone else found the leotard is very baggy around the crotch? The rest of the fit is good, but the crotch is all wrinkly. Do you think going down a size would help?
  11. They look quite a bit too big, although I'm not a ballet teacher... getting them wet and then tumble drying until almost dry, then letting them dry completely on the feet may help. Or they might be your next pair, with a slightly smaller pair to buy first... but I do have a definite preference for 'about to outgrow them' tight! xx
  12. Wearing them a bit helps them to mould to the foot. An excellent fit is probably more important than spotless shoes, as they will get slightly grubby backstage at festivals anyway, and you won't want to buy a new pair for every festival. If your DD is wearing socks backstage, make sure she takes them off... I saw a beautiful ballet solo danced in bright yellow slipper socks once!
  13. Deadline for acceptance is Friday, so hopefully there will be a bit more movement after that xx
  14. We have movement to report on the SWL! DD has just been given a Year 6 place at Eastleigh. So pleased for her! Fingers crossed for all other wait listers! xx
  15. My daughter is starting in London in September, and can't wait. She loved her trial lesson. You only have to look at Emma Northmore's credentials to see how fantastic the programme is!
  16. SWL for a Year 6 place at London for DD! Thrilled to bits for her, as last year was a straight out 'no' and sitting tight for a bit more waiting! Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear xx
  17. I wonder if they are sent according to audition centre or training centre, if that makes sense... we made a reserve choice that would hear earlier than DDs first choice... probably overthinking it though. I'll sit back down and re-cross my fingers!
  18. My daughter was there this morning, and we were told that we would hear at the start of July. So we will be living with crossed fingers until then! It was a lovely experience today. DD came out beaming!
  19. We missed it due to All England regional finals... but hope to attend the November audition instead. What was the audition like? Fingers crossed for a yes for your DD.
  20. My daughter is trying for a Year 6 place in London on the Tuesday. She knows it's a long shot, but is looking forward to the audition class as a fun day out. She is so much more chilled out than me!
