  1. I found the dates but couldn't see a closing date associated with the May audition :/
  2. Does anyone know when the closing date for audition is? I can't see it in their site and wonder if we have missed it for this year
  3. Just wondering if anyone knows how much notice we get before the audition, to say what time DD well be going? Thanks!
  4. DD has started talking about maybe looking at vocational school for her senior years. I've no idea where or when to look at this, with the exception of Tring - for which we are booked in for the open day in May. Any advice greatly appreciated.
  5. We do this trip weekly. Make sure you keep an eye on when chelsea are at home as the roads get closed and it causes chaos in the area so you'll need to allow more time to travel
  6. my DD is 8 and currently does about 6 hrs dance (mainly ballet) a week plus extra at home and school. I've always said to her so long as her school work isn't suffering and she's happy then I'm happy so far is done her no harm and she'd do more of she could! you can always stop but you can never turn back the clock and add those hours in is how I see it x
  7. awesome news Lilac, been watching to see how she got on. Think we will try next year but too much going on this year already xx Well done All 4 dancers too
  8. hellogoodbye - there are a heap of festivals in your area. I'd suggest going along and watching a few sections. Feb half term has Tilehurst in Newbury and Royal Berks in Wokingham going on. It's a few quid to get in to watch some sessions and get a programme. I think they are both qualifiers for all England dance festival which is on every two years. We have been in the festival circuit for a few years now and made some great friends along the way.
  9. Thanks all. I spoke to the school and they said to oar the ones in the application form in case anyone else has same issue.
  10. I totally understand where you are coming from with your comments. I've found so much help on here (we've only been on the rollercoster a year). One thing i will say is you will soo realise who your true friends are, the ones that accept without question when you let them down at the last minute about things due to a rehearsal or audition etc.. however, i do find dance mums tend to be the most organised and have diaries planned well in advance good luck to you and your DD with the process xx
  11. Thanks everyone, i think i will be re-thinking the idea of the box
  12. She loved it thanks Lilac. Said the teachers were really friendly and she even met someone she knew from festivals. thanks for the mention about them being ok to miss Tring to do the audition
  13. She's only at the cba not at the school itself but I will check unless anyone knows that makes a diff? Thanks for the help on the pics x
  14. Hope someone can help!! There seems to be two different sets of photos required for the audition application: One here (which the application sends you to) http://www.royalballetschool.org.uk/training/auditions/photograph-requirements-full-time/ and one on the second page fo the form - not sure the link will work and cant post a photo (easy to get to by putting in name and dob tho) http://www.royalballetschool.org.uk/training/auditions/junior-associate-audition-application-form/#gf_59 really confused!! x
  15. Mine is starting at Tring tomoro She is only 8 so only just starting out on the mad rollercoaster of dance. she just loves being on stage and is happy to audition for the experience for now - thats how we got into Tring - we had zero expectations LOL
  16. Hope you dont mind me adding to this thread with a question - does it matter what is in the background to the photos? i'm guessing no furniture / curtains etc, but if they were done in a studio, would it be ok if the barre was behind DD? Or doest it need to be a plain background? I might be able to hang a sheet up somewhere. Been looking at the requirements for the JB JAs on the website and I cant find anything about that at all. Thanks! x
  17. Ah yes hadn't thought of that. wouldn't be an issue booking the box itself but the view might well not be great. Thanks for mentioning that xx
  18. Thanks for opening my eyes to this Lilac Only thing is, all the auditions clash with Tring unless the times work out. Would you mind letting me know what time the audition is once she know xx
  19. No idea yet lol :/ a London one ideally or The Mayflower in Southampton is doable.
  20. Thanks lollypop. It's as I thought then. Just couldn't see anything on their page about this year's audition.
  21. strange question maybe but how do you go about booking a box at a ballet? assuming it's even possible or are they always for corporate use etc? whenever I've looked for tickets its always been standard seats. Thanks!
  22. Does anyone know when the auditions will be this year as DD is very keen to audition.
