  1. Does anyone know what summer schools are 'approved by RBS?
  2. Hello. My DD is week 1 and will be her first time. She is also 10. I would suggest taxi in and out of the park and rent in Sheen rather than Richmond. Cheaper and generally better traffic (I went to Uni nearby in Roehampton)
  3. Just realised... When are MA results out? Seen the SS ones are out
  4. One less at funding... My DD has been offered WL x Good luck all DC X
  5. In shock to say my DD is one of the 2 JA girls from Eastleigh... There are 2 girls and 2 boys with yes emails from our centre. Those that have followed my story will know that we started this road with a "no" email from RB in yr4... So just goes to show it really does just mean "not yet" Please don't let your lovely DC give up :x
  6. Does that mean we (as in someone) know how many places are left up for grabs?
  7. I'm not worried about age... What will be will be. Just wanted to let SkintDM know she's not alone
  8. Skintdancemum. My daughter also in that camp as birthday is mid August. Xx
  9. Thank you. We do love chatting to the owner too. Her DD is at RBS so lots of info to share. However it's more the pointe fitting I'm interested in, esp at Spotlight, as DD been recommended to go there. However when I popped in to ask about booking, the lady serving couldn't even recall the 4th brand they sold... Didn't exactly instill confidence :/
  10. I have and I've not had a response, hence the post
  11. Just curious - Where did you find out there are 60 this year? Do you know final numbers for the other main schools ( without taking this off topic)
  12. Does anyone know when TutuGirls SS is on this year? Had a look and can't see any posts for 2017
  13. Can anyone advice on experience of Pointe Shoe fittings at either Spotlight in Eastleigh or Ballet Pointe in Winchester. Thanks
  14. Flowerpot yes she did eventually Thank you MAK
  15. In total shock... DD got recall Can't take it in. So sorry to all the not yets... And remember that's what they are. We started this journey with a no for JAs in yr4... Not even the 'try again next year' that everyone else seemed to be getting xx
  16. We're still waiting for yr7 London result too... Jump every time my email pings. How long does it take to do one centre even if it was the biggest... :/
  17. Not all the JAs will have applied for SS before doing the CG day last week (we haven't) so not sure how they would "mark' them... Unless there's another course early next yr that we've not been told about after closing date
  18. Flowerpot - my DD went from no to yes in a year so def worth trying
  19. We have responded to the email saying we will no longer be able to participate but not heard anything... anyone done the same and heard back yet?
  20. My DD does not have high arches yet is a RB JA... its something she is visually (even to my untrained eyes) improving with exercise as time goes on, and was really rather flat footed before she started with them. I am curious about the long / short torso issue as that's something I've not come across before... can someone explain it to me please, ratio etc, I assume?
  21. If it helps, CBA uniform require canvas splits soles even in group 1 and pretty sure my DD who gained a place in the Nov audition a couple of yrs ago wore her split soles with socks
  22. Had a slightly different variation in this at the weekend... At a friend's BBQ and was chatting to wife... She was telling me how how 4yr old desperately wanted to join the ballet club at school. I said what a lovely idea but oh no that was totally the wrong thing to say! She cant "stand the idea of her daughter doing something so girlie" - somewhat shocked at this I pointed out she was only 4 and probably wants to be with her friends. I was very matter of factly told that if she did ballet, she would "have to take up judo or something to counteract the girlieness and strengthen her up" At this point I glanced over at my DD and looking at how she is solid muscle. From nothing but daily ballet training, excused myself and suggested to my DH it was time to leave. I didn't dare open my mouth until I was safely home
