  1. Thanks guys! She does love her violin. She practices before school so that she can go to dance or socialize after school. And we have an amazing teacher xxx
  2. Here is my dd ,not dancing. She was rehearsing for a show! A proud mummy moment .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DUcO9B6vhG8&feature=player_detailpage
  3. Where i live you have to pay by the month for 2 lessons a week.It works out to 100 pounds a month and thats the cheapest here.
  4. I think this question has been asked before but can find. For year 7 audition, can you wear convertible tights?how many do?I know it's not good for normal tights as they need to look at feet.
  5. So do most dancers wear their tights under their clothes before an audition? My dd will be auditioning for year 7,should she wear her ballet clothes underneath or can she get changed when there?
  6. The first date my husband took me to was at a restaurant with a live band.I never heard a word he said, but just nodded yes!He could of been asking me anything!!!!
  7. When I sent the photos for lower school audition they emailed me back with the audition date and gave me the dates to apply for ss.
  8. Have to admit it, Antalya is a fantastic place. Amandawhiter,If my dd gets into tring, maybe our girls could meet up when your on holiday here!
  9. I would say whatever your dd feels more comfortable and happy the way her foot looks when pointed,
  10. Amandawhiter, Only just saw your comment from before. We live in Antalya Turkey.DVD almost ready!
  11. Good luck to everyone auditioning xxx
  12. Just to add, it was only the ballet schools we decided against but not the all round musical theatre schools.
  13. Well photos and forms ready!will post on Monday!! My dd has wanted to audition for so long but suddenly in the last 3 months my husband and I decided against it.Then we had a change of heart when we saw how sad she had been and we felt really guilty. So a mad rush to get things sorted!
  14. It does say, for students who have started pointe work,so you dont have to show pointe work for the dvd.
  15. I dont think it is just for 10 year olds.I think its for the whole of the middle school. It also depends on how difficult the teacher makes each exersice. My dds teacher has made the exersices definatly more difficult than grade 4 rad from what i have seen on youtube of grade 4.
  16. Balleteacher barre, plies tendus ronds de jambe a terre adage with fondues grand battement piroutte exersices allegro petit allegro batterie grand allegro pointe work solo and stretching
  17. I have to say that we will be sending a DVD for the Tring dance course and their requirements for year 7 are much more difficult than any of the other schools for DVDs.If 10 year olds are only doing 1 or 2 ballet classes a week it would be almost impossible to do what they have asked for.
  18. I love my dds ballet teacher! She gets so cought up in the lesson, every 1/12 hour class turns into a 2/12 hour class!when the parents ask how much longer she says "in a minute".Apart from that she calls each parent into the studio regually to give a run down on their childs progress. It's only a hobby school and none of the students want to be dancers.
  19. Well done to your dd Amandawhiter. Can I ask, how long do you get before accepting the place and pay the deposit? We are sending a DVD for the audition as we live abroad. Sorry to her a no straceydor.Hope your dd is not to upset xxx
  20. I have to totally agree with Anjuli on all the points she just made. That is exactly how I chose my dds ballet teachers. Some have been qualified teachers, professional ballet dancers or neither. So for me it's much more than just that.
  21. I believe there are good and bad in all the types of teachers that everyone has spoken about. You can only tell by watching or experiencing the lessons yourself.
  22. LinMM I think my jumping would be ok apart from getting out of breath!I remember most steps and nice combinations
