  1. There is no way I could control myself if the letter was staring me in the face!open it and then resend it in the post! Lol
  2. Well I suppose the schools will have to take more over seas students. It worries me that if the most talented can't pay, surely the schools will have to fill the dadas up or face losing money that they need so they will have to give them to less talented. This Will create a bigger problem in the future when they wont be able to find work, then the dadas Will end up Scrapped all together.
  3. It's so nice to hear yes!!! Well done you all made my evening.good luck to those waiting and keep you head up and stay positive for the no letters xx
  4. Afab, same in Turkey.School year starts in September but the school age is from 1st Jan! You can always start a year later if you want so there are big age differences in schools years and that goes for the conservatories as well.
  5. Could be moneypenny as the very low earners probably couldn't pay for the boarding ect even on a dada
  6. This is what my 11 year old has chosen. He plays for a premier football club and I have to say for me it is more stressful than my dd and her dreams of being a ballet dancer!
  7. If a child is talented it has nothing to do with the parents being rich, poor, educated, working all day and night! All talented children who are offered funding are equal and should be able to except that place!
  8. Is there any good summer schools for 10 year olds in Florida? If anyone knows
  9. Yes!there are us Brits that have been out of the EU for more than 3 years that don't qualify! Now I have paid all my tax in the UK! And that's not fair!
  10. Well not exactly the same standard but similar with the funded students stronger and the waiting list must be a bit weaker so maybe it does happen that a non funded student can't pay so the place goes to a waiting list student who can pay. Do the schools ask about finance before funded places are offered?
  11. Anybody who is offered a place without funding must be of the same standard weather rich or poor.
  12. Right you lot have defiantly put me off even trying for vocational school for my dd, she can love ballet as much as she likes and can do as much as she likes, I will try and give her the best for her ballet and make sure it makes her the happiest girl in the world but it sounds like far to much pressure for anybody!
  13. The government should allocate a certain amount of fully funded places to each school, weather the school has boarding or not and let the school pick who the most talented are!and stop spending billions on arms and wars!!!
  14. Yes! Why not! There could be ful time training in the evenings and weekend for 16+ with classes according to ability.
  15. Yes I suppose your right!!!
  16. The most talented in the Uk will be offered funding first and there are those that can pay, then international places will be filled. All will be to the highest standard required for that school, and there will be more than enough. So the schools still get there money and still have the best students.Maybe I'm wrong!
  17. I'm sure there are lots of international dancers who can pay full fees, that must be why schools audition abroad and I'm sure they are super talented. Schools need to fill their places with the best students and also make money to survive.
  18. Ian!! How did you find that? I liked listening to the songs in a different language until I read the translation!very funny, but I can't understand why they done it.
  19. This might sound silly but what happens if you don't want to do A levels at Elmhurst or Rbs? is it possible not to, if so what would you be doing instead?could you take more lessons?
  20. What about ballet news on Facebook? Can you put it on there?
  21. I think the point of this thread is only to investigate other options available for dance students not compare the standards of schools in different countries. With the new dada funding it would be devastating for anybody to finish lower school and then not be able to continue training, what's the point of starting!so I welcome any suggestions that might help
  22. But look at the difference in price!!!So not fair!
