  1. Mine too Fiz! I'm really enjoying the Olympic skating so far.
  2. I think we should all be respectful of each other's opinions on this forum, and also be kind when talking about dancers- they are people with feelings.
  3. I was wondering if anybody could tell me anything more about Moyna and Zulme? I realise they are "lead Wilis' as such, but seeing as they have names, I thought there might be a bit more to their characters as far as the story background goes?
  4. I loved the insight evening too! It was really interesting to compare Heap and Magri''s Rose Fairy side-by-side: both beautiful in different ways. Such a lovely role!
  5. Wow! Those photos are stunning- particularly the first one of Edward Watson in The Wind.
  6. She was in black this time. It might have been Nathalie Harrison.
  7. I don't know how this pianist changes tunes so often- he's incredible! His mind must work exceedingly quickly!! I can never take my eyes off Sarah Lamb when she's in class! Though she seemed to only pop in for 10 minutes!
  8. I wish we could see a bit more of centre practice from the front! But it is always a privilege to see the rehearsals. Wonderful!
  9. Oh yes, lovely photos. I didn't realise she was offered a contract with the company when she was 15, then had to go to the ballet school when they realised her age! 15- so young!! I absolutely love her, and am fortunate enough to have seen her beautiful Nikiya at Covent Garden a good few years back!
  10. It's so enjoyable and such a privilege to be able to watch these insight events. I didn't want to stop watching the rehearsal with Hayward and Sambe, I could watch for hours I think! I loved how Collier was so gentle in manner when coaching, but still managing to get her point across. For me it was a really wonderful watch!
  11. Did anyone else find the TV coverage of the ballet final rather infuriating, in that it only showed fragments of each solo or pas de deux? If the BBC are going to commit to covering this event surely it would be better to do it fully and completely? The whole point of watching is to see the dancing! (Don't get me wrong- I'm very grateful that they have the event and that it's televised, I just found it frustrating to see scraps of the dancing).
  12. I really love her too, in everything I've seen her in so far. I also enjoyed watching her in the classes on World Ballet Days.
  13. This is so exciting- it would be lovely to see it tour further afield, but don't want to push our luck!
  14. The very back row of the circle is raised up on a step so you can get a really good view there- but you have to be lucky to get these £7 seats. There is a row with a bit of a gap in front of it- I think it's row K in the circle. Also the sides- (row L?) in the circle have no row in front of them. There are quite a few good options!
  15. I enjoyed the Darcey Bussell programme last night immensely. It really made me miss her dancing! For me, there was something special about her that I'll never quite be able to put my finger on. I loved seeing her in the beautiful Prince of the Pagodas solos and Winter Dreams pas de deux again. While I know that there is a lot of criticism out there for Darcey as a presenter, to me she has an enthusiasm and obvious passion that I find warm and inviting.
  16. How lovely, John- especially as you saw her as Clara! It was a great fundraising effort.
  17. Thank you John, I have contacted the website, but unfortunately they're all sold now. I'd love to hear whose shoes you get though!
  18. I haven't had time to read all the above comments so please forgive any ideas already posted, but I've thought about this before and I think it is a lack of really inspirational music. The majority of the really successful, full-evening, narrative ballets have great music. We don't have a modern-day Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Liszt, Massenet etc. I think music is the key.
