Also..I just checked my paperwork and we had put on the initial application that we required funding to attend. Only people who checked that box and were offered places got funding audition offer. If they hadn't checked it they got straight offer or a no. Hope this all helps. Is a learning curve! Pm me if you need anything. X

Hi. Last year at Tring dd did initial audition. About week later we got a letter offering a place and all the forms to complete to accept. Included was the offer of attending the funding audition. At the funding audition I think I remember her saying there were 30 or so Invited back and they would be rated in order with offers sent out from the top down. So if you don't initially get a funded place that doesn't mean you won't as not all will take the offer. A week after funding audition we received the good news of the award of funding. I know of others who got waiting list for funding to then happily get a dada offer just after Easter. And others who unfortunately never got that opportunity . I think there are 27 now in lower sixth. I remember also the lady saying 350 had auditioned plus then the overseas students. Little tip...We learnt if its a small envelope its a good sign and if its just one sheet of A4 folded it wasn't! Good luck. Its a crazy time but well worth it. My dd is having the 'best time ever' she tells me! Keep us in touch!

I know of 1 Tring year 11 girl who auditioned for sixth form places elsewhere ...just like elmhurst, enbs and rbs students try out at different places. In the end she decided to stay at Tring and was still offered the opportunity of funding. These schools are used to students moving. Hopefully !

My dd is at Tring ...this time last year we were you...! Auditioning at lots of places...finals....dadas ...mind boggling. My dd is loving it and so pleased she picked Tring for sixth form. So much opportunity and both teachers and pastoral are wonderful. Its what ever place feels right for your dc That is important . Not gossip.

A friend of ours documents the moves in a ballet then goes all over the world teaching the moves to other companies ... i know she studied it at uni as she was injured as a dancer...very specialised field from what i understand! Can't remember what her job title is tho! With political career in mind though think of the good you could do aiming to represent the arts! We need a serious 'on our side' politician! You obviously have your head on right so all the very best to you. X

Yes...they all complete the same first year foundation course then choose ( with guidance ) to specialise in classical, jazz or contemporary for 2nd and 3rd years. My dd is on the classical course now and loving it. Great place!

A third year at Tring was just offered a place with the scottish ballet company i believe.

Pm me katymac...how old is your dd? I have 4 new pairs i bought but i got the wrong size. U can have them at cost and i bought at warehouse price

My dd has been to the dance summer school in scotland for the last 4 years ... it is so good. They are so well looked after and have great teachers. The guy that comes from the matthew borne company is amazing. Pm me if u want to know anymore,

Its a great place to study! My dd is on the classical course but learning piano from a student om the commercial music course! You cant get that diversity any where else!
