  1. Have you tried a half circle needle?
  2. Where are you ? If close to midlands there is ballet associates in leicester ran by graham fletcher which is great and midland theatre in hinckley. Or northern ballet does one too i think in leeds.
  3. I can only say great things about Tring. Its more of an experience than dd and i ever expected. She has had the pleasure to dance with tutugirls son and he is amazing. Even though a classical career is her dream she is also being able to experience wonderful jazz and contemporary classes and that can only serve well in getting a job at the end. My dd is also learning piano from someone on the music course, drama skills from mt and drama students and life skills by being front of house at events. If you are keen and want to learn...its a great place. Accommodation is fine, food is good and always available and pastoral has exceeded my expectations. Most of all tho i think our dc 'feel' where they want to be. Tring wasnt top on list till we went there for open day. Then it became the place. Your dc will also know where its right for them. For us Tring works and dd has become a true Tringaling....!
  4. Www.thedancesummerschool.com is really good too and has accommodation.
  5. Sorry...cant figure out how to edit from my mobile... Excuse my typo...starting at Tring not staring! It was after midnight when i got home!
  6. Wow...i have just come back from watching Jazz Cups, Choreo Cups and the Sixth Form show. Amazing talent and some seriously good choreography by the students. Saw several lovely forum members there and all the dc were incredible. For anyone starting at Tring come sept you have picked a fab place. The support from the students on other courses was evident and the sense of belonging to the Tring family was wonderful to witness. Well done to everyones dc that took part today. I was blown away by their performances. Enjoy Easter Hols all

  8. Sorry yes...a group page
  9. You can make a facebook page that is only available to members of the group that have to be invited into it by the owner of the page. But facebook still ultimately owns all the content you put on there. Social media is great in some aspects but not so in others!
  10. Will like your page too swanprincess. All of you dancers are so dedicated and just like my dd. Office jobs are just not for you guys! Ha ha
  11. Lovely that your dd is going to elmhurst kat09. You are friends with my friend so we have followed your dd. Good luck to her. X

    Rambert auditions

Watkins dance...have you put this on all threads! It has been on the last 3 i have looked at. Shouldn't it just be under summer school thread?
  13. Congratulations ...i only have great things to say about Tring since my dd started lower sixth last sept. The sixth formers help the lower school in the eve with homework for an hour and theres lots if interaction. Your dd will be well looked after with all the bonuses of great academics. Rest well knowing she is getting the best of all worlds plus coming home for exeat every two to three weeks. Makes time together even more special. pm me if you want to chat more. Celebrate well! X
  14. Fantastic news. Great school. Enjoy celebrating!
  15. My dd will hopefully be helping out with the course this easter. She attended last year and now is in lower sixth. Its a great week...they will love it i am sure! Pm your dc names so i can get her to say a special hello welcome!
  16. Not sure of its of help but www.thedancesummerschool.co.uk is excellent and has full accommodation and chaperones. My dd loves it and they pic them up from airport if needed to. Great support and kids from all over go. My dd now has friends from greece spain Mexico singapore italy...
  17. I think its fair...as a parent whose dd has been non vocational till 6th form we have had the opportunity to shine at festivals, istd ballet and janet cram awards etc.the students at wl. Elm etc haven't had. Its all about experience and it you don't make it to the next round/audition it simply should make the dancer more determined. It does my dd. Its such a tough world in this lovely choice of career that our dc have taken that a knock should really just make them stronger. Do wish sometimes my dd had chosen to be the first england mans football manager...it might be more realistic. Ha ha! Gotta love the arts!
  18. Good luck lovely peps! Its a fab place. X
  19. All the best! I was you this time last year. Hugs to all x
  20. Sorry...didnt answer your first question! No...tax credit is not included in your income. I had to provide a p60 for total income or a copy of my tac credit confirmation which again was for proof of actualn income.
  21. Hi. When my dd got her dada last year i lost my tax credit. They said its because it is a level six diploma. They only continue if its up to a level 3 (a level type courses) you can get a maintenance grant to help...you apply for this when you fill in the papers for the dada. Its income based the same as the dada. Take from one hand.... Its a struggle to afford the accommodation costs to be fair as for me as a single parent its like running two homes! I know others a lot like me but happy to knuckle down with just the basics for the opportunity for dd to be doing what she loves. I think regardless of income its a stretch though! Hope things go well for you and your daughter.
  22. Take a look at www.thedancesummerschool.com My dd has loved it...great teachers and full on activities all night too. My dd will be helping out this year as a chaperone too! Pm me with any questions x
  23. Sorry...I must have been having a moment.. Big a4 is a good sign..smaller envelope not so. I guess the same conversations happen every year! Its lovely to have the experiences of people on here and the wealth of knowledge this forum brings. I know it helped me last year!
