    I recommend for auditions that she wears a simple style, they don't tend to like leotards that have loads of lace or patterns on them. This is what I was told at an audition course. Good luck to her!

    I'm a fan of roch valley simply because they are the only ones that I can find without that weird bit of extra gusset material sewn in which I find really uncomfortable in other pairs I've tried. Does anyone else find this? If so have you found a company that does them without the gusset thing as the only ones I can find are from roch valley and the only place I can seem to get them is one of our local dance shops?

    Hi guys, After having a talk with my Dad today about money and how much the next three years of my degree are going to cost I am left with the worry of where I'm going to find the money to pay for it all. I will have the fees and maintenance loan but that doesn't cover all the costs that I will face and my parents aren't going to be able to pay for it all as money is very tight at the moment, this means that I need to find the money myself. I currently don't have a job due to having dance so many days a week including A Level all day on a Saturday and allowing myself time to work on my A Levels. I would like to find a way of earning money to pay for the costs related to my course but I don't know what to do. I won't be able to have a job when I'm at school as I'm going to Ballet West so there isn't anything around their to get a job with. Basically, I need advice on how to earn the money and if there is any way that you think I can be earning whilst studying. It's getting to the point now when I'm really panicking about what I'm going to do. Thanks and I hope that the responses will also be useful to others on here starting or at Upper School.

    Absolutely love this book! I got it for my birthday a few years ago and read it so quickly, I was constantly reading bits out to my mum too!

    Hi all! So I am hoping to get some stuff from the Sansha sale and I'm not sure what sizes to get. I am planning on getting one of their Gaby warmup all-in-ones and some leos. I am a size 6 or 8 normally in clothes but also very tall at 5'10" ish - any advice as to which size would be best for me to order? Thanks! If anyone else has any Sansha size question please use this thread to ask each other as I don't think there is a thread currently on it.

    @Balletaddict I've got an offer from them too and I'm accepting it so will be interested in what people respond to your post with. Also, let me know if you end up accepting as I'd love to start up a facebook group if there isn't already one. <3

    I definitely recommend looking at London Studio Centre as they only take people from 18 posts a levels. I am kind of in a similar situation - I am currently in year 13 and auditioning for schools to hopefully start them in September when I am 18. Starting at a school that takes from 16 when you are 18 isn't a bad idea at all, you will be maturer than the other people there and you won't really notice the difference of being 2 years older as I feel like when you dance you dance with so many different ages in classes that you don't see people as different ages. I'm not sure if that makes sense at all but basically find the schools that she likes the sound of and go for it as age shouldn't be a barrier!

    Thank you @Ellie1304 , I'm so glad that it was helpful! Good luck to her! Congratulations on NBS and will keep my fingers crossed that she gets a DADA - for me it would be the same if I received an offer. That's a shame about Rambert, I've gathered from those I've talked to about it is that it has been the hardest one they've been to and that not many get through on their first time auditioning. It's great to hear from someone else that's doing it at my age too as most people are yr11/12, wouldn't be cool if we ended up at the same place! Thank you for the wishes. Tell her to be relaxed about LSC as they were very calm in the process and the teachers were very nice. <3

    I thought I would just let you'll know that I got a recall from London Studio Centre and I couldn't be happier! I opened the email on the train home from dance on Saturday and cried as I had so much doubt that I would get a recall. I have ballet tonight and can't wait to tell my teacher. I still have five more auditions left (1 uni & 4 vocational) before it's recall season - fingers crossed that the others go well too! Congrats to those who have already got offers and/or recalls, you are all awesome people and good luck with everything! <3

    Hi all! I had my London Studio Centre Audition yesterday and I think it went well - fingers crossed! I still ache from it and have a few bruises to remember it by until they fade ;D Anyways I have a blog and wrote a post on my experience on the audition and thought I'd post the link here in case it would be of any use to anyone else applying there if you are wondering what the audition is like.     Hi Balletbean, Thank you for the information on your experience with Northern's auditions, it's really useful to hear - appreciated. It's great to hear that your DD found it really comfortable, that makes me feel better about mine and I like the sound of a family feel as I come from going to fairly small community based primary and secondary schools so that it what I have experienced in my education so far. Yep I've looked into the different ways differnt places are funded - quite a headache as everywhere seems to have slight differences! Thank you again for all the help and well done on your DD for getting an offer from NBS - that's awesome! Thanks, Willow
