  1. Good on your DD Auntie Nora. It's lovely to hear of some yeses too. So far it sounds like those much coveted places have all gone to JAs which makes sense. Good luck to everyone with whatever comes next. I guess for a fair few that means an answer on summer school and then a wait for Mids results!
  2. Sorry for those who have not been offered places this time. You will be in the majority today of a tiny, tiny minority that got this far but so, so hard to break tough news to your children. Thinking of you all.
  3. Was just thinking the same Harwel
  4. Well done to everyone. There must have been such a high standard for there to be a 50 percent increase in the numbers of girls taken through to Finals this year! Inevitably it will be a tiny percentage that are selected and there will be disappointment but how wonderful to have danced at White Lodge and no doubt there will be other amazing opportunities for those that aren't offered Yr 7 places.
  5. Good luck to everyone auditioning today and tomorrow!

    A Little Brag!

Fantastic and, from a selfish perspective, thrilled to hear about someone transitioning so successfully from ballet to MT. Good luck for the future!
  8. Proballetdancer - as a non dancing parent I have really learned a lot from your posts, thank you! Snowflake - dd1 is also an ex gymnast with good flexibility in some areas of the body. It wasn't until she started Associates that we found out from her thrn teacher that whilst her gymnastics had helped maintain her natural flexibility, it had also increased her tendency to pro-nate, which in turn was causing her to turn out from the feet rather than the hip. Since she has cut down on gym in favour of dance, things are improving, but very slowly! I have no idea what I am looking at so am v reliant on her teachers.
  9. Oh no Amos73 your poor DD. Hope she is feeling better soon and what absolutely rotten timing ????
  10. No, but don't think I follow any local dance schools on FB other than our own. How bizarre that anyone would feel the need!
  11. Don't know about the intensives but the Associates scheme is excellent and DD has done a couple of other fantastic events at Central
  12. Yes very true! Also, some dancers might take a place at another vocational schools leaving more opportunities for Mids.
  13. I don't agree entirely Hopeful, although I do on most of your post ????. As RBS allows all applicants to audition there will definitely be some that they wouldn't consider for Mids regardless of the outcome of Finals. If my dd happens to be in that group she'd much rather be put out of her misery now. Allnewtome sorry to hear your result. I do know of dancers who have got into Mids without having been invited to Finals.
  14. Seems very quiet, hope there are some more yeses lurking out there from London ????. Feels like a long wait now to Mids results and probably more disappointment! It's almost a shame they can't do it as a two stage process and let anyone with a definite "no" know now, leaving a smaller pool to wait until the outcome of Finals. Oh well...
  15. Huge congratulations to your dds Auntie Nora and southerndancemum. I remember your DD's journey last year AN as I think she was in the audition after my dd's and I've also been reading about SDM's dd's experiences for a few years too (makes me sound like a stalker!!). So exciting for them ????
  16. Thank you Balletmummy55. DD2 absolutely fine and as philosophical as ever (although I think she's slightly disappointed about not seeing White Lodge!).
  17. We just received a no for WL from the Yr 7 London audition. It's what we expected but of course still disappointed, especially after getting SWL for JAs last year. Good luck everyone ????
  18. The shortest wait time is frequently the last audition. Don't forget London Yr 7 auditions for girls were only ten days ago ????
  19. I guessed there were 4 sessions as the last one was 3.30-5pm but just a guess!
  20. There might also be an element of how things go on the day and who else is in the group?
  21. Year 7 boys London audition was 15th Jan so I think some of us have a little while to wait yet ????
  22. Sorry for those who have not received the news hoped for, so hard being a parent at these moments! Also, don't forget (as if you would) that for anyone who applied for MAs as well as WL, results for the former are still some time away and could be positive.
  23. Bless her!! My little one has suddenly started taking a tiny little teddy bear to dance related events, who fits easily into her ballet bag and occasionally is allowed out to watch something! There is a risk the bag or the teddy could be lost at some point admittedly but isn't there always...
  24. Noooo, I hope in both cases it wasn't obvious to the candidates concerned ????
