  1. Hi, I tried to do a bit of digging and was told that they don't pre-allocate an order as such to the SWL but consider everyone on it again if a place comes up. That being the case, I have assumed that they don't have huge numbers on the list. I know of there being some movement in the past in London for MA and SA places but don't personally know any dc who have secured a JA place in London from SWL.
  2. I know how you feel Sparkle123. I nearly accepted a SWL place for another centre as well as London before coming to my senses and realising that even if a place were to come up I couldn't get DD there when other DD already dances in London on a Saturday!!
  3. Excellent, DD1 is very keen to make some new friends
  4. Lucky for them (bit of a pain for parents/guardians!). Thanks Tutugirl :-)
  5. Tutugirl how lovely for them. Out of interest are you able to say for which centre (s) SWL places came up?
  6. We are really so lucky, we have been there for about 8 years now. Mind you, it's kind of crazy how it starts to impact other life changing decisions such as: well we can't really move house because we are so close to the dance studios that the girls love and to London for Associates classes!
  7. I wouldn't have known such things existed if our teacher hadn't put the girls forward. We are lucky to have a brilliant local school with that lovely combination of some serious talent and achievement/success for quite a few dancers, as well as a really supportive environment and genuine care for each individual, regardless of level
  8. I think they do an amazing job and clearly there are hundreds of talented dancers who won't be offered a place. This year, RBS saw 1200 children for JAs, across all the centres. Interestingly, there was a 25 percent increase in applications this year,I wonder what caused that? To see so many and make and communicate decisions in a month (half that for London) is pretty amazing I think. Anyway with so many applicants for so few places, there will surely be some that simply "got away" each year and may well be selected at another attempt. That's what we tell ourselves anyway
  9. Congratulations! I will send you a message with more details. DD1 started last year and we are very happy there
  10. Brilliant news, is she starting in Prep 1? Hope she enjoys it
  11. Quite a few of the dancers at our local school go to LJB/LSB and many have continued there even when attending other Associate classes on Saturdays. My understanding is the audition is a nice class, the results come out quickly and the groups are relatively small. The only reason my two haven't auditioned is because I am desperately trying to keep one day of the week free!!
  12. Have heard of some results today although don't know if they stagger them.
  13. Mine is ten so next year will be applying for MAs. We were pleasantly surprised after a no last year.
  14. Must be so frustrating, I hope it's good news when it comes
  15. Auditioned for Yr 6 on Tues 31st May. Email came about 4.30pm ish.
  16. Thanks and good luck to all waiting, looks like the news won't be too long coming now. For anyone new to this gane, MA applications have to be in earlier (Nov?) as auditions are in January. I expect we will be there too!
  17. Awesome auntienora :-) SWL for DD2 agggghhhhhh! V proud of her :-)
  18. Brilliant news Gowiththeflo:) Thanks for sharing!
  19. Nothing here, but I did hear there were record numbers of JA applicants this year, maybe it's why it's taking a little longer than previous years.
  20. That's fantastic news Chauffeurmummy :-)
  21. So glad you posted Katia05, it's soooo quiet...
  22. There is quite a helpful table on the RBS website which shows you by precise age what can be applied for (although the above posts have summed it up perfectly).
  23. For the last two years we have received our London JA audition results on a Thursday (12th June in 2014 and 11th June last year).
  24. Lovely hearing the good news and sorry to those with the not yets!
