  1. A very big thank you to everyone who encouraged me to take my DD along to the MIDAS audition. She has received a lovely Yes so went skipping off to school this morning full of the joys of life and counting down how many weeks it is until she can start! Thank you!!
  2. Thanks everyone for your thoughts - I guess I am just nervous about totally destroying her confidence if she receives too many no's in quick succession without any yes's. I will also look at Midland Theatre Ballet - thank you.
  3. Can I ask a genuine question please and honest answers appreciated?! My daughter (9 so auditioning for a Yr 5 place) has had no's from both Elmhurst and Tring this year. Her teacher maintains that she is a gorgeous and talented dancer - and she certainly has the passion and desire. Dance is what she wants to do. However, I now need to decide whether she attends the MIDAS audition on Sunday or not. If she's already been rejected by Elmhurst and Tring (and most likely RBS) I am assuming she's not likely to be accepted by MIDAS either. Am I doing more damage by allowing her to try yet again knowing that she's likely to fail?? Help!!!
  4. We got a no for yr 5 - email arrived this morning
  5. Following on from the "what next" theme - I was wondering about what to do if she is unsuccessful. She has already said that she wants to try again next year - but in the meantime what can we be doing to increase her chances next time round?
  6. My DD (9) was also at the CBA auditions today and there were some things she was asked to do that she hadn't done before. She has also auditioned this time round for RBS and Elmhurst - where this wasn't the case. CBA did the groupings based on age and experience rather than just on age so I am wondering whether they deliberately asked the children to do things that they know they haven't done before to see how they cope? My DD is taking Grade 3 (RAD) in a couple of weeks so is confident with the syllabus (or at least I hope she is!) so I think it was genuinely things she hasn't got to yet. Hope that helps!!
  7. I am not sure what's best I am afraid but if it helps my 9 year is wearing a black camisole leotard (with matching black belt)
  8. Hello! My 9 year old is - she's in Group 3 and will be wearing a leotard with thin straps (I think!) and socks.
