  1. I wish DD would wear the lovely pink ones, she prefers the washed out looking ones. Gaynor Minden do a Russian Pink stirrup type tights which to me look like they have been in the washing for a year, but DD loves them!
  2. It was all beautiful Pictures. As my DD is starting her journey into auditions for sixth forms this year it was a nice way to see what they do.
  3. My DD and I went to watch the finale of The Hammond show yesterday and I was blown away by the talent of these young people. The dancing is very strong. I would have liked to see more ballet in the Upper School part, however the "birds?" (Black feathery costumes) was one of my favourites. Huge well done to all, you should all be really proud of yourselves xx
  4. Straceydor - what a shame, we need more shoe fitters not less X
  5. I do agree too. Every summer school DD has attended isn't only aimed at vocational students, there has always been a very good mix and still a very high standard.
  6. Straceydor - always had my DD's fitted by Dancique in Birmingham. X
  7. Pictures - have just confirmed with Helene at Dancique that they can be ordered in small (and as small as 2.5) and half sizes but have to be specially ordered, like my daughters shoes do. Maybe give them a call and they will help. X
  8. My DD won't go anywhere else to be fitted and has been in RP's for a year. Pictures - can they not be ordered as I have to order DD's as she has to have an extra long vamp.
  9. Mnemo, my DD also doesn't finish school until the Friday of that week. What a shame as she adores Michaela ????. We found the same issue with summer schools too. Keep my eyes peeled for any more!!
  10. Chauffeurmummy have you tried Midland Theatre Ballet. I know they will see talented children outside of auditions?
  11. Does it mean that our children must take part in very expensive competitions to be noticed? "Big sigh"...
  12. I agree that you have to love what you are doing, however I don't agree with being unable to teach a person to dance unless they are born with it.
  13. Pictures - yes she is. It's a "specialist science college". Agree, they all don't want to be dr's or scientists! ????
  14. That's exactly what my daughter is doing, she chose double so has been moved sets. She was at the top of the top set so is now at the very top of the lower set which the teachers and DD are fine with.
  15. Mnemo - As a school they can't force your DD to take triple science, how awful! They are under enough pressure as it is!! My DD was begged to take it but has chosen not to, taking double award instead.
  16. Ahhh sorry swanprincess!! Hope you are well? X
  17. Ballet_lyon if you get in touch with swanprincess I know she attended last year. X
  18. My DD attends Easter and summer courses and she is not vocational and has a great time, does not feel out of her depth and everyone including her peers are always really lovely to each other.
  19. Proudmum, I am sorry to hear that. It's an emotional roller coaster that consumes you as a whole family. I hope that she will be ok. I know how hard it is delivering bad news. Sending hugs xx
