  1. Next summer we'll be in Chicago at the beginning of august. Surfing the web, I found the opportunity for my daughter to attend a weekly dance teen camp. They say they will do, for 5 days, 9:00am-12:30pm - Ballet, Hip Hop, Contemporary. I wonder if anybody here on the forum knows about the Joffrey Academy or has experience with their summer programs. Thanks in advance for your help.
  2. ...all the others are in waiting list, I meant ....
  3. In our local ballet school about ten girls applied, various ages. One got a YES, all the others are in WL. We don't have vocational schools here, but all these girls get training five times per week, plus stages during the weekend al least once per month. btw, I guess waiting list is quite extended....
  4. Got the email one hour ago: waiting list for Covent Garden. But it is different with respect to last year: they had priority and selected waiting lists (my DD ended up in selected waiting list), now it seems there is just one waiting list, and they say there is no set order to the waiting list, if a student declines their place, they will review all the applications in that category (e.g male/female/age group) to offer the place to an appropriate candidate. In the email they say that they had 1680 applications and 350 places available: do you know if 350 is white lodge +covent garden or just covent garden?
  5. We received a confirmation e-mail immediately after completing the application and payment process. Attached to the e-mail there was a pdf file containing all the details of the application. I would give them a call.
  6. The deadline is approaching and we have to decide if applying for RBSS.. This year my daughter should apply for Covent Garden: she will be 15yo next summer.... In your experience, what is more difficult? being admitted to WL or to CG? In addition, she is worried at the idea of staying by herself in London and going every day to the school (she never traveled alone before). She wanted so much to go last year, which was the last residential at WL for her, but unfortunately it didn't work. Now I'm torn about whether to encourage het to apply or not....
  7. Hello Arizona. Last year we received a first answer on January 30. My daughter was in waiting list. In the middle of march we received a second letter saying that, after all the replies from students who were offered a place, my daughter was still out, but we could decide to remain in the waiting list. Next year, if we decide to apply and get into the waiting list again, I think after march we will look for different options because it was painful for my daughter to be hopeful until the very last moment.
  8. Pas de quatre, did you do the photos yourself, or did you ask your daughter's teacher to take the photos? By the way, here we are still waiting as well.
  9. We received the expected march waiting list letter: all the places on the course have been filled. I need your help to make sure that I correctly interpret the following part of their letter: "Please do let us know if you decide to make other arrangements so we can remove you from the waiting list, there is no need to contact us if you wish to remain on the list." So, if I just don't answer, I will stay on the waiting list, right? I have to answer to be deleted from the waiting list. Did anybody here receive a positive waiting list answer? Thanks for being always so kind.
  10. I'm searching for information/opinions about the Central School of Ballet summer courses. We are looking for alternatives to the RBS ss. At Central applications are still open, but it is a non residential school, so it is not easy to get organized. Can anybody help me? Thanks a lot
  11. Since I'm not confident to be called from the waiting list, I found an interesting alternative summer program at the Central School of Ballet. What can you tell me about it? Thanks a lot for your help!
  12. Is anybody there still waiting for the answer? My dd's friend didn't receive any email yet. Next monday her mom is going to call
  13. Thanks a lot angel for the information...
  14. Hello Maria_ballet, my dd is in the selected waiting list for the WL 2 weeks residential. For which program did you apply? Nobody seems to know the difference between 'selected' and 'priority' waiting lists. I would say 'priority' is better than 'selected', but who knows... I'm in your situation, and decided to let my dd choose: she decided to accept the waiting list place, and remain free for the 20-31rst july, in order to be able to accept a last minute offer, if it will come.... Of course I'm afraid it will just end up in a big disappointment...
