  1. It was certainly news to me!
  2. The trouble with Exmouth Market is that I don't think people generally realise it's there, or what there is there. Over the years, I've seen various branches of chains set up there, and eventually close. I suspect many of them do good enough business on weekdays, but evenings and weekends do appear to be a struggle
  3. I thought you had to have a passport even for internal flights, but maybe they've changed that now? Oh great, I can't even get on a plane to anywhere ...
  4. Me too. I hadn't realised it was happening at all I've only ever missed one Watson Mayerling, and I don't intend to make an exception this time, but if I can't get in the amphi then there are barely any seats I can afford (I'm assuming I won't be able to get a stalls circle standing). I've no objection to them making one performance a "student special", but just wish they wouldn't take out the entire "cheap section" in so doing. Perhaps they could do one half of the amphi at two separate performances - might fit in better with students' schedules, too?
  5. I think they were offering some at about £33 fairly recently - still far too high for me. Get Into London Theatre offers may still be available, of course.
  6. Hilarion and Myrtha have now been announced as well: http://www.ballet.org.uk/whats-on/giselle/
  7. Glad you managed to get them posted, Simon! Is there any indication of how recent or otherwise they are?
  8. Bruce, I've cut your NYT quote down to the essentials, as it breached our quoting guidelines. In the meantime, thank you to those who've steered the thread back on topic
  9. Does the thread below help, Simon? http://www.balletcoforum.com/index.php?/topic/325-posting-in-a-review-and-pictures/
  10. Ah, so I *have* got a ticket for it! Just not sure whether I can cope with 2 Beauties in one day ...
  11. "I think that Kevin's decision to give him a contract is one of the best thing to have happened to the company in years" Or maybe Muntagirov's decision to ask for one?
  12. "Takada's Aurora is developing very nicely and I look forward to seeing this pairing again in a few weeks time." Oh? Have they got some more performances somewhere? I thought I was going to have to miss out on them.
  13. Given how difficult it is to get a Symphonic Variations cast right, I think I might be prepared to sacrifice certain other performers in other casts - for the time being - in order for that to be achieved. OTOH, The Dream does need good casting ...
  14. Talking about Choe, with Christmas imminent I suspect many of us had other things on our minds, but I must record her lovely performance as Aurora a couple of days prior. And for those who were wondering at the time, no, it wasn't Hirano's debut as Florimund: he'd danced the role (with Choe!) last time around too.
  15. Of course - I just haven't had time to look at the links this week, that's all!
  16. Drat. It must have been in Tuesday's, and it's too late for me to pick one up now. Thanks for flagging it, anyway.
  17. Okay, that's another one, then. What with RB booking this month as well, I don't think my credit card provider is going to be too happy!
  18. "Musical imagination" - a great way of describing what it is I so appreciate about Cuthbertson in particular in "abstract" roles of this type.
  19. Ah, that would explain it. I was thinking you'd got the dates wrong because it was on Channel 4 last night.
  20. Is this the Prix de Lausanne, or something else I don't know about?
