  3. Hi and welcome to the forum My daughter also arrived late to the "serious" ballet scene. Auditioned for year 10 at Elmhurst and RBS and was unsuccessful. The schools were not encouraging for applications at year 11 due to GCSE courses, and tbh there are very few spaces for that year. My daughter continued with Associate programmes, applied, and was successful in gaining offers at multiple schools for post 16 training. Good luck to your daughter - if she does audition but is unsuccessful,it is all good experience for next year, where more places will become available. II
  4. GOLD medal to Vida Polakov, 16 American/New Zealander. also another Bronze to an Elmhurst pupil
  5. 2 medals for the girls from ENBS a bronze and a silver - Fantastic news - Congratulations to both girls (and parents, enjoy those proud moments )
  6. At my daughters school, any external dancing activity must have the approval of the school. Possibly the same at all, and I am sure that others on the forum will advise. There isn't actually much time for extra curricular dance as there is Saturday school and days are long. Early days but my daughter says she would be too tired to do anything else
  7. Hi Balletqs - daughter is on the mend thankfully and wore her pointe shoes for the 1st time in 6 weeks this week. What a shame the winners can't return to dance as I'm sure that it would be a lovely experience for them. It's probably a bit late in the day to try to raise sponsorship
  8. Thank you Lildancer96 - she is settled and really happy Her foot is on the mend and hopefully back en pointe soon - but not soon enough for this weekend
  9. Lildancer96 yes you are right Genee challenge not THE Genee x Thank you everyone for good wishes xx
  10. Lildancer96 sorry to hear your news and I know how you are feeling as my daughter will also not be dancing due to an injury. Very upsetting for our daughters but hopefully they will have other opportunities in the future. Wishing all who are dancing lots of luck and enjoyment xxx
  11. Feeling slightly sick JulieW - thanks for your lovely post x

  14. I collected the form from the post office today - verification form is attached for the school to stamp. I was told alternatively it could be done on line .... looks like we have a choice

    YBSS 2014

Hi everyone - I'm wondering if anyone who was at week 1 presentation took any video footage. My daughter was injured and couldn't dance at week 2 so I missed seeing her. If you have any video and are willing to share I would be grateful - she seems to have been hiding when the photographer was in situ!!
  18. Presumably vocational students will need their schools permission to enter - will be interesting to see as to whether they will give it their support.
  19. on the US SS this year there were 120 pupils on the course .... 15 from the UK ... I'm not against a flutter but I don't think the odds are in our (the UK) DDs favour and, because of this we will apply/attend elsewhere next year. I am sure it is a great opportunity for those overseas, who cannot attend the mainstream audition to get seen, and, for RBS to widen their pool of applicants.
  20. Here is a link to John Cranko (Stuttgart) en.john-cranko-schule.de/admission/ and Hamburg http://www.hamburgballett.de/e/aufnahme.htm
  21. If people have auditions after the xmas break I'm sure that a residential few days would have some appeal - I know that we would have jumped at the chance last year. This year perhaps a one day masterclass but nothing that starts too early
  22. tutu anna - my daughter is starting in september,I have sent you a pm
