  1. I would like to know that as well Tulip .. from my research it's not for post 16 but I would love to hear that I'm wrong x
  2. take a look here …. http://ballerina.worthytoshare.com/stars-in-jaw-dropping-commercial-incredible there will always be exceptions to the rule
  3. Last year it was my daughters dream to gain a place at RBS Upper School she got a place everywhere but Floral Street. 11 were successful from Lower school and they are all beautiful dancers. A number who didn't gain a place now dance at the same school as my daughter - they are beautiful dancers too and are thriving. As many on here have said not every school (and their system of training) will be right for every child - it's a bitter pill at the time but it might be the medicine that is needed. Best wishes to all that are affected by these results and all good wishes for the future x
  4. Sorry to hear of the no's today … remember people can and do get in off the reserve lists . Good Luck xx

  6. Hi IND23 . Congratulation to your DD. Please tell her not to worry. My DD is at ENBS and you won't find anyone more quiet!! The interview was just a chat , she was asked what she likes to do to relax and nothing any more taxing than that - it was very short, friendly and informal good luck to your DD , do let us know how her day goes x
  7. In my quest to keep my daughter healthy and injury free, I have conducted personal research on products & supplements which might support her. I started her on an immublend (Vitamin D,Vitamin C and Zinc) and also an Aloe Vera drinking gel with added Chondroitin, glucosimine and methylsulphonylmethane (MSM),this has been formulated specifically to maintain healthy joints and flexibility as well as to boost immunity with essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids. The products have really immpressed me & I have decided to join the company producing these. As an independent business owner and am happy to extend a 10% discount to all balletcoforum members. If you would like any information about the products or wish to try them please get in touch. Kat
  8. That maybe so meggy13 but there are 2 girls mentioned in your first post and if the other is as striking as you say she might be easy to identify and I for one feel that is unfair.
  9. I don't know what anyone else thinks but the conversation has turned to a personal tone with individuals who might/might not be recognisable. Mods your thoughts?

    How Much Rest?

Thank you everyone for sharing ,I'll share your replies xx
  11. Hi all - can I ask all you seasoned Mums, with daughters at upper schools and teachers of ballet ,your thoughts on the amount of rest needed during school holidays. My daughter had a month off school at Christmas. It was lovely to see her but she tells me that was far too much time off and she wouldn't be doing that again! With summer approaching she is hoping to fill her time dancing, all bar the holiday I have managed to book. I do understand the need to keep flexible and fit but feel that a break would be good for her - I do worry about burn out,but don't want to stop her if that is what everyone else is doing. Any advice most welcome.
  12. Hi Swan princess just popped by to catch up on your news. I hope that no news is good news and that ur still waiting on that postman xxx
  13. Hello again. Last year everyone at Finals had a physio check. The class included pointe work but was not overly difficult. DD seems to recall 18 in her class. Not sure how many places there are but I'm sure that someone will be able to tell you how many are in current 1st year. Good Luck. X
  14. Hi - don't feel too bad,you have done really well to get an offer of finals at Elmhurst. The best way to think about it is that all schools are looking for something but that might differ from school to school. Good luck at your other prelims and fingers crossed for finals. X
  15. Oh so sorry to hear your news Katymac.Best wishes for Monday everything crossed for a yes!! Xx
  16. That would be on a very good day.allowing for connections I would say 45 and as I'm phobic about being late I'd allow an hour. Have a look at tfl.gov.uk they have a journey planner which is probably more accurate than me xx
  17. Hi Miracle. If you are using public transport first take the Victoria line to Victoria and then change to District or Cicle line and take a train to South Kensington. Just outside the station take a 14 or 414 bus to Hortensia Rd. This will take you around 30 minutes.
  18. Hurrah - very pleased for you both best of luck for finals xx
  19. Sorry to hear your news Chaperone ... hope some good in the pipeline ... keep going!! xxx
  20. Hi ,my daughter auditioned successfully at several schools last year and says that the pointe work was not too challenging ( she couldn't do a fouetté en pointe at the time) there will always be some more advanced but they might be lacking in other areas. Be the best that you can be but don't allow the fear of what you can't do detract from what u can. Good luck with finals everyone xx
  21. Good luck today Swan Princess ... Show them how you love to dance xx
  22. Huge Congratulations to your lovely daughter - very excited for her xx
  23. If it makes it more palatable,we found that it was acceptable to copy the original report for the other schools.
