  1. Does anyone know if anyone from Leeds JA has got into WL this time ? X
  2. I think Dr Dance said one girl had been offered both .
  3. I haven't heard of any yr 9 places . Sometimes they don't take any , I believe . I'm sure she will be offered a mids place ? Or is she going to Elmhurst finals too ? She is clearly talented to have got so far . Best wishes Tutugirl
  4. Ooh that's exciting Waitingmum . Are they from your local dance school .? Huge congratulations anyway . A real achievement at year 8 . Hope your daughter is not too upset pointyourtoes .who knows what is around the corner X
  5. Keep calm gracefulasabutterfly ! Welcome to the forum too ! Did you have a DD auditioning for year 7 ? All the best x
  6. Take a look at National Ballet of Canada . My DS also young for his year and Tring 3 rd years do a lot of touring , which is invaluable for performance skills - but he may need a post grad year for technique . Northern Ballet looks amazing , but difficult to get in as they are only taking 12 - 15 students .
  7. It was last Saturday for the lower school- so hoping your wait is over today FF
  8. I can't get the link to work which is a shame . I'm not on Facebook ( lol ! The only person in the universe ) So it's the other link I need please .
  9. These syllabi are in conjunction with their other training - free classes / rep / pas de deux etc
  10. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong - but if you are talking about ballet syllabi Tring do RAD and Ceccetti Elmhurst RAD Hammond RAD Moorlands Ceccetti Royal - not sure Tring do ISTD tap and modern exams Hammond ". " I don't think Elmhurst do exams in tap and modern , nor Royal .
  11. Anyone within striking distance of Leeds - take a look at Renaissance Arts . It's only 5 years old , but with great grad success . Martin Howland ( ex Royal Ballet ) is amazing for ballet - although this is not a school to train classical Dancers . There is the opportunity to study jazz , tap , drama , vocals , ballet , commercial , contemporary . All with great teachers . Many guest teachers come in from West End to do workshops . Fees are reasonable too . My DS started there 2 years ago , never having danced . He is now emerging as the proverbial triple threat , and procured an 8 week professional contract dancing (!) in pantomime . Their show is on 9th/ 10 th July . PM me if you want any details . I have now sent several students there , to their associates and their full time course . Tutugirl x
  12. It's an MDS for my pupil a boy for yr 7 . He did have a physio . Take heart though I had a girl on reserve list the other year who got an offer in July . Sadly she had already accepted Hammond. She is now at Royal If it's meant to be it will come x
  13. Any news anyone ? I thought they might be today x
  14. I have a boy pupil in audition now - apparently 12 boys for year 7 Not all get physio - or at lest in previous years
  15. I wish all of you the very best for Tring tomorrow . My DS is in 6 th form there , and it has been wonderful . He has had other offers / decisions to make along the way , but Tring has afforded him a great training , 9 good GCSE results , 2 AS and hopefully 2 A levels ! A 4 week scholarship to Hong Kong summer school , 2 trips to Sweden , performing at the RoyalAlbert Hall and various other theatres . Aside from this he has made lifelong friendships , played in a band, and been looked after so well by the amazing Sheila Hoole in the boarding house . The other day we were talking about things , and he said that even if nothing came of his dancing ( though he is determined it will ) - he would not regret ever going Tring . Enjoy your day - how quickly the time goes . Tutugirl
  16. Yes I am . It is almost certainly week commencing 15 th August x
  17. Have only the girls had their Tring results - or are there any DS out there who have heard ? X
  18. Tutugirl !! Lol ! I do often feel like hurling a tutu though !! X
  19. Hi there . I shall be holding my summer school again for the 4 th year in West Yorkshire . Last year we welcomed students from RBS , Elmhurst , Tring , Moorlands , Hammond , alongside non vocational . Classical focus , with contemporary / jazz and optional vocals . Pas de deux , rep , and a performance on the Saturday . We offer residential or day places and I believe we are the most reasonably priced . Perhaps Harwel , SniffyMum , Yorkshire Pud or Kiwimum might like to add their thoughts about the quality of last year / previous year . Or any other forum members whose DC attended . This year will be week commencing 15 th or 22 nd August , - not sure which yet , until this week when I will post . Meanwhile PM me if you wish Tutuhirl
  20. Wow Sniffymum - congratulations to your DD from me ! Moorlands have done a fabulous job with training then . I never doubted it . Good luck for finals x
