The owner is a huge fan of the RB and of Vadim Muntagirov.

He and his family regularly travel abroad with the company on tour.

(Just to add that I know who the owner is by chance. The horse is news to me but, given the family’s enthusiasm for ballet, it’s name cannot be simply coincidental. 🐎 )

and very kindly gave her (Vadream is a filly) a distinctive hashtag #vadreamcf so she won't keep turning up on my IG feed. 😀

Vadream lines up for the first fillies classic of the season, the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket on Sunday. An outsider, at about 20/1

Another ballet connection (sort of) - Lazuli is fav for the Palace House stakes at Newmarket tomorrow

not last, she was 6th, ran on from the back quite well (shame the jockey had positioned her so far back really). Perhaps 10 furlongs, rather than today's 8, is in her future. Shame my bookie only paid the first 4 home though (each way)

Lazuli won on Saturday though

Thank you. That's great. Must have read post position instead of result.

Aiden O'Brien's joint fav for the Derby, Bolshoi Ballet, runs in the big Derby trial in Leopardstown this afternoon. If he wins (well) he will be a very short price for the Derby at Epsom Downs early next month!

...and in he went, at even money - and very impressive he was too. Now Bolshoi Ballet about 2/1 for the Derby itself on the first Saturday of June

continuing on the dance related horses, even if somewhat tenuously at times, Project Dante runs at York today. His first run (he is a 2yo) today, and is currently the race favourite at 3/1. Wonder if Wayne having a fiver on...

Going back in time ... when I had my horse phase my favourite famous horse was Nijinsky.  I hadn't discovered ballet then but I read the biography of Vaslav Nijinsky because of his equine namesake.

A horse running at Yarmouth today - Zen Dancer (after our Zenaida?).

Bit of an outsider, though has been backed from 40/1 into 20/1

Sadly, it went back out to 100/1 and was tailed off (by about 2 furlongs!)

As a Links person can I just say that people should be banned from naming horses after anything or anyone to do with ballet - horse racing is most of what I am getting in my news feed!!!

(I exempt Nijinsky from this statement as I wasn't doing the links then and because his name led me to reading a biography of Vaslav Nijinsky and sparking my gradual interest in ballet!)
