Yes, my ds is unable to continue unfortunately.

Oh that's such a shame!  I personally think Tring is such a lovely programme, I would hate to have to make a decision between Tring CBA and another associate programme.  Fortunately (for us) Birmingham JA's remain on a Saturday, so it doesn't pose any conflict.  Though for children about to make that move into Y7 vocational school, I'm sure missing one final term isn't such a big issue.

Hi everyone. Having just looked again at my daughter's video, I think there is not enough contrast between the background and her leotard, which was listed as a requirement in their guidelines. Annoyingly I didn't notice this as I was filming (or ever before). I would say you can certainly distinguish between the background and her leotard but a stronger contrast would have been easier on the eye. Should I redo the video? She is only 7 hrs old and it's no small task for someone like me (who didn't do ballet) to undertake this task. I am extremely happy with the video otherwise.

I read that as not wearing a black leotard with a dark background (or equivalent with other colours!). If it’s going to bother you and you have time tomorrow I’d be tempted to redo, but then send the video that you think shows your little one off best.

I think as long as you dont wear the same colour leo as the background it should be fine. Maybe just send them an email and say if they would prefer you could send another video. They probably wont expect you to go through all that again xx

I've looked at everything again and I am just going to redo the photos. With the video, due to the movement, I think everything looks fine (especially when I watched on a computer and not on my phone) but with the photos, they could be better. I didn't even think I had a black background in my house but as my daughter was dancing in front of the fireplace in our living room, it turns out that due to her height, her torso was positioned straight in front of the fireplace, and the inside of it is painted in a dark colour so with hindsight any colour but a black leotard would have been better. Oh well ...

I haven't uploaded it yet. I still need to retake the photos. I was going to send it via Vimeo because I've used that before. Do you think most people do YouTube?

I haven't uploaded it yet. Still need to take the photos. I was going to upload it via Vimeo. I've never used YouTube. Is YouTube recommended / preferable?

Ah ok. I found it so easy and had never sent anything that way before x

We’ve just sent ours off with a video link to Google Drive - I think if I could see how many views etc I’d drive myself nuts analysing it all!

Can I ask if you are applying to this and other associates because your dance teacher recommended you to/gave their blessing, or are you doing this entirely on your own? I guess the studio etiquette is to only apply with your teacher’s blessing? Since you have to name your dance school and teacher on the registration form, I would assume it’s a good idea to let them know beforehand.

What do people usually do?

Yes, we asked dd’s teacher, purely out of courtesy.

We applied at the beginning of February and got the email with the video application details a couple of weeks later. I think this round is closed but I’m sure there’ll be another set of auditions nearer the summer 😊

Has anyone had a confirmation email to say that their video has been received for the CBA audition?

For peace of mind I emailed a week or so after submission as I'd been expecting a confirmation email lol! CBA then responded to say they had received it. They also checked the video link worked by viewing for a few seconds!

Yes we had a view when I first sent it in and another this weekend. I think they’ve watched about 2 minutes over the weekend. But I think they watched about 5 minutes the first time.
Did they watch much of yours?

I cant tell how much they've watched.  I've gone into my videos, will I be able to see from there? Our video was about 13mins I think

Our video has been watched twice as well on the 31st of March. I don't feel very optimistic because it's hardly been watched at all. My daughter is only 7 and hasn't auditioned before so I knew this would be a long shot. I am more upset at the personal effort that it required of me to put the video together for only 10% of it to be viewed.

Maybe this weekend they were just trying them all out. Ready for them to have a viewing day this week to email everyone by the 15th. I'm sure they will watch them all otherwise they wouldn't of asked for it to be a certain length of time.

I can see more data now but I still cant tell how you are able to see how much theyve watched 🙈

I know what you mean, we’ve done a few videos for auditions and they’ve never watched more than about 40% but generally it’s about 20%!
fingers crossed!

On a computer, go to your "channel content" where your list of videos shows up (only one vide for me). Hover the mouse over the name of the video and a couple of icons will show up. The second one is video analytics. Click on it. You will see a squiggly graph of the views. Click on more (under the graph). At the top of the new graph there is a button called "traffic source". Click it and it will give you breakdown of views and average view duration.

Thankyou for that, I found it. I take it it comes under direct or unknown? Oh well what will be will be. Good luck to your DD
