Lema
Have you tried Graham Fletcher ballet associates in Leicester? Auditions are usually in September and the classes are once a month. There is also Annette Nicholson school of dance in Birmingham, she does weekly classes, associate style Sunday classes etc if that's any use to you

balletbean
I'm 13 , grade 5 and inter foundation rad and i live near Birmingham but I don't mind whenever the auditions are ! Hi Liv56, Thank you for the info, however, I feel (may have to be corrected) that all auditions for Sept places have already taken place. Many of the SS application dates for a selective place have also closed. You may wish to consider a SS placement at some of the other reputable schools either all classical ballet or those offering a Jazz course. These SS's are invaluable not just for the teachings nut also to help on confidence and also a greater indicator for yourself of the talent out there and prepare you for the audition season ahead. We can all get so wrapped up in our own little local bubble that it is hard to appreciate what is out there. SS helps us with that. There are day courses and also full time residential. I'm not UK based so only know of the obvious more Nationally known courses but others on this forum with better local knowledge could probably offer some suggestions. Or buy (subscribe) to Dancing Times publication. A great read that also carry many advertisements for Full time, Associates, SS and Workshops. Good Luck

Lema
There's also Elmhurst associates and Midland ballet theatre local to Birmingham, but you would need to google them and find out when they audition. Good luck in your search
Anna C
Also, if you're on a tablet or PC (as opposed to a phone), you should be able to see the tag "Associates" under the thread title. If you click on the tag, it will take you to a list of other threads about Associates.

shygirlsmum
Is MIDAS the same as midlands associates ? I have heard of a scheme that train once a month but not sure if they are the same. I can only find last years info on the Midlands website.
Lema
MIDAS is short for Midlands independent dance associate scheme, and yes they train once a month so probably is the same one you are looking at, have you tried the Facebook page or pm'ing drdance direct. theother51
Midlands Associates could also refer to the monthly scheme run by Peter & Shannon Parker in Newark, Notts http://midlandsassociates.yolasite.com/ Edited March 29, 2017 by theother51

drdance
Hi, MIDAS is once a month, classes in Birmingham, focus is split equally on ballet technique, artistry and conditioning. Teachers come from a large pool of experts in their respective fields including soloist and principal dancers from ENB, BRB and freelance ballet professionals plus dance conditioning specialists such as those working at Royal Ballet School and freelance with professional dance artists. We're also lucky enough to have a live pianist. Emphasis is on safe and effective training of vocational dancers equipped to deal with the demands of the profession in the 21st century.
