  1. Whilst I'm loathe to mention Cinderella again on a Nutcracker thread, I feel I have to say there are no "ugly sisters" in Ashton's Cinderella, they are "step sisters".
  2. I would suggest bookmarking either the calendar page(s) for the relevant month(s) or the production booking pages.
  3. If you’d like to see Gary Avis’s smile on receiving his first on-stage bouquet for a male role…
  4. I understand that this is due to the same issues with the stage that prevented the coffin being lowered in Mayerling.
  5. Your original post to which I was responding said nothing about subsidised theatre, only the perception of most people around ticket prices. To be honest, “most people” go to the west end and regional theatres rather than the NT or RSC.
  6. Not quite sure the underlying premise there is true. Tickets for To Kill a Mockingbird at the Gielgud on a Saturday evening are between £60 and £177.50. For Moulin Rouge at the Piccadilly, it's between £29.50 (for the tickets right in the back corner of the balcony) and £250 and for Cabaret at the Playhouse, it's £120 to £300.
  7. Applications for 2023/24 are due to open in Spring 2023 (I assume once the season programme has been announced). The schools matinées details page is here.
  8. There are no restrictions on schools applying to attend ROH matinées, although the ROH does indicate for which key stage(s) a performance is appropriate. Travel grants are also available (but not guaranteed) for schools outside London. For the 22/23 season, tickets for schools matinées are £7.50 each.
  9. We had a run of A Month in the Country at the ROH earlier this year.
  10. Yes, I mean literally three and a half pence to the ROH for every £1,000 tax raised.
  11. As you'll see from my posting immediately above your own, the other cast changes are due to Ball replacing McRae and dancer illness. There is no mention of injury for the additional changes.
  12. To put this in context, for every £1,000 tax raised, about 3.5p goes to the ROH.
  13. The cast change email says "Given the short notice of this replacement, and also due to dancer sickness, it has been necessary to make a number of other changes to the scheduled casting..."
  14. This link takes you to the ROH cast sheets page (this is also the page to which you are directed by using the QR code at the ROH). All cast sheets appear here and they seem to have them going back to September 2021 so, if you have difficulty in finding the cast sheets, I'd recommend bookmarking the page.
  15. I type "ROH cast sheets" into google and I'm there in seconds (also my work computer auto-fills this so I only have to type "ROH"!).
  16. We can send a fully armed battalion to remind you of their love...
  17. As someone who has been to a number of these events before, I can say that a large proportion of those attending do not fit into those categories (though as the ROH benefits from the gift aid portion, I don't see why the tax payers shouldn't also get some benefit, allowing them to give even more to good causes).
  18. I assume you're talking about their costumes for the new Pan Tanowitz work (Dispatch Duet) that O'Sullivan is dancing with Bracewell. She and Campbell will be wearing the usual Fille costumes!
