  1. I've locked this thread as there's already news of this event here: http://www.balletcoforum.com/index.php?/topic/5322-ivy-house-event-at-rbs-2-feb/?fromsearch=1
  2. The article is also littered with factual errors, such as Yanowsky being French and Soares, Argentine!
  3. Those who were at Nuts on 14 Dec (e) will have seen Hinkis dancing Clara in place of Loots. ROH have confirmed the same change for 20 Dec and I've updated my posting of 4 Dec to reflect this.
  4. Of course, it's not unusual for the casting of a new ballet to remain unknown when booking; some we don't find out casting details for until almost the opening night!
  5. I have moved the original post on this thread to the booking period 3 casting page here.
  6. ROH have now confirmed the cast change for 9 Dec and I've updated my posting of 4 Dec.
  7. I've locked this thread so we can keep all news about casting changes in the relevant casting thread. Period 2 RB casting thread is here.
  8. Pretty sure this is a mistake (on the basis of tweets from James Hay). Frankie Hayward was gorgeous this evening.

  10. Casting update - Jewels Itziar Mendizabal will replace Fumi Kaneko and Nicol Edmonds will replace Ryoichi Hirano in Emeralds for the matinee performance on 21 December and evening performance on 30 December. Laura Morera will replace Fumi Kaneko in Emeralds for the matinee performance on 28 December. Ryoichi Hirano will replace Nehemiah Kish in Emeralds for the evening performance on 17 December, evening performance on 28 December, the matinee performance on 30 December and evening performance on 7 January. Casting update - Hansel & Gretel Luca Acri will replace Ludovic Ondiviela in the role of Hansel for the evening performance on 25 January and on 28 January. Alexander Campbell will dance the role of the Witch for the evening performances on 24, 25 and 27 January, previously ‘to be announced’.
  11. There are seats on either side of the stage (which is over the orchestra pit and part of what is usually the stage). The seats at the top of the diagram are the usual tiered seats and the seats at the bottom are tiered seats at the rear of what is usually the stage.
  12. If rows A-D are available, do not choose row E (minimal rake). Rows A & B are neck-crick territority. If there is an orchestra pit (so A-D not available), row E is the front row, level with the stage. Rake is very good.
  13. She's still a student (as are the three gents who performed The Elders).
  14. I have discussed this with senior RB management (but referring to the Linbury rather than SW and as an addition to the season rather than instead of it) and the issue is time for rehearsal and availability of dancers generally. The RB is already one of the busiest European companies outside of Russia and when educational engagements are included I wonder when the dancers have any spare time! I think a season of smaller works outside of the ROH would not be economically viable as public interest in them tends to be limited (there's a reason there are so many Swan Lakes, Sleeping Beauties and Nutcrackers!). I think the RB have 129 performances at the ROH in the 13/14 season (including H&G in the Linbury), excluding open rehearsals and the like. I wonder where Linda thinks the dancers would find the time for more shows whilst still rehearsing a varied rep and avoiding injuries. I'm also puzzled as to why Linda thinks more shows at a smaller venue would provide more "seats". There's a lack of available space suitable for ballet in London anyway and most of the smaller venues have a stage that is too small to perform the larger ballets in an appropriate fashion.
