  1. I wouldn't classify 7.30 as a early start (and 7.00 starts on Saturday are not unusual with RB).
  2. About 1 hour 40 minutes with one interval. Don't know if the running time includes the interval.
  3. It's generally only this bad in Bayadère. Annoys many us too!
  4. Revised casting for H&G (Hansel, Gretel, Sandman, Witch, Mother, Father) 8,10,11(e) May: Hay (replacing Kay), Cope, McRae, Maloney, Morera, Gartside 9, 11(m) May: Ondiviela, Harrod, Thom, Hirano (replacing Yanowsky), McNally, Stepanek (replacing Whitehead)
  5. Cast change for La Bayadère: Choe replaces Morera as Gamzatti on 6 May (eve).
  6. Which is exactly what I said. All the figures for the ROH (which includes funding towards the RB) are in the public domain but the amount of "public funding" which actually goes towards the RB is not known.
  7. I'd be interested to know how you are able to say that as the subsidy which goes to the RB is not made public. I note that, according to the most recent accounts, ACE subsidy accounts for just under 50% of the income of the ENB and 25% of the income of the Royal Opera House. Cost to the taxpayer is not just the outgoings from ACE but should also take into account the value and benefit for the economy generated by the recipient.
  8. Would be a statement of truth if it were true but it's not. Morris dancing is not just undertaken by Brits.
  9. I don't know what gave you that impression about ROH schools' matinées, as they are open to pupils aged between 8 and 18.
  10. Another cast change for La Bayadère: Bonelli replaces Kish (due to injury) for 27 April matinée.
  11. Hopefully it will stop that woman asking for ballet surtitles!
  12. Last performance with RB in London. Mara is dancing Manon with them in Monaco at the end of June.
  13. Erico has tweeted that he will not be involved in Draftworks due to commitments with the London Children's Ballet.
  14. As far as typos go, thankfully it wasn't Frankie Howerd! So sad for Frankie missing this opportunity.
  15. The new season press release said Stearns was making his RB debut in Nutcracker. Perhaps there's another reason he refers to Cuthbertson as his Juliet...
  16. More cast changes, I'm afraid. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland 11 April - Choe & Kish replace Stix-Brunell & Pennefather. 13 April - Lamb replaces Cuthbertson. La Bayadère 9 April & 27 April(m) - Kobayashi replaces Cuthbertson
  17. There is a schools' matinée on 2 May. I would assume it is that to which Roberta is referring, rather than any suggestion that Lamb is injured.
  18. I'm locking this thread as it's somewhat duplicative. Please use the thread linked in post number 2.
  19. Cast change for La Bayadere on 5 April: Marquez replaces Cojocaru. Cast change for Alice on 6 April: Choe & Kish replace Stix-Brunell & Pennefather.
