  1. Clear evidence of abuse in the ENB under Wayne Eagling ? not sure I am following you, are you referring to Derek Deane's in the documentary "agony and ecstasy" ?
  2. "some grains of truth in the article"... certainly ! I think some of you would like to have silent dancers, people who are just dancing and not talking ! I don't know much about ENB but I guess dancers are on short term contracts, one year contracts ? of course they are not going to talk openly ! Graham Watts knows the company very well, he should be well aware of that ! I really hope ENB management will consider seriously what the dancers have to say. And it is really surprising to read a moderator saying the discussion is "distasteful", on the opposite I think it is one of the most important discussion here on BCF !
  3. News is now on the french websites Dansomanie et Danse avec la plume as well

  6. It is sad that Joseph Aumeer did choose Paris instead of London. He is such a talented dancer, I am sure he would have been a dancer to watch in 2018 if he had stayed in London. I am not sure he goes a lot on stage in Paris where is he is still a "surnuméraire" which means on short term contracts, not part of the company yet.
  7. Must be difficult for her to see Rina Kanehara taking such an important place at ENB. I don't know Kanehara, is she that special ?
  8. And William Bracewell ? he was great tonight, very strong partnering, beautiful turns, an experienced partner for the beautiful Fumi Kaneko who is wonderfully musical and has a beautiful softness or quality of movement. Pas de deux was very nice but her variation a bit uneven, the end was weak as she had no energy or no legs anymore. For the rest it was quite unnecessary to add double fouettés in the coda, she almost missed the end... But that said it was a beautiful performance from both of them ! I was in the audience when Fumi Kaneko got injured a few years ago, it was so sad... I was so happy to finally see today the great potential she has. By the way Royal Ballet is really full of talent at the moment, with wonderful men. Leticia Stock was an exquisite Clara, Tristan Dyer a bit tense and lacking in precision. Not much connection between the two. Yuhui Choe, what a ballerina, everything looks easy with her. Very nice production with Peter Wright in the audience !
  9. I completely agree with Darlex concerning the repertoire. Tamara Rojo knows what she wants and she acts as a visionary for the company, pleasing the audience and some (most?) of her dancers. Concerning this aspect it is really difficult to understand why L. Summerscales is blaming the repertoire (Pina Bausch, a new work by Akram Khan, a new work by Forsythe himself....) It is clearly a five stars repertoire ! That said and talking about the departures now, ENB is not a school which means we should not take it as normal if some dancers are leaving only a few months (or weeks) after having been made principals. This position should be reserved to dancers committed to their company, the beginning of something even if it is normal in this job to move but come on not that quick ! Something in the procedure of nominations is not working...
  10. thank you floss for this inspiring text ! really really do not agree with you capybara
  11. I know that Jeffrey Cirio is a wonderful dancer but what a weird message Tamara Rojo sends to the audience and her own company when she gives the part of the Messenger to a guest dancer ! Come on she has so many wonderful artists !
  12. Why Song of the earth with La Sylphide ? it seems weird to have those ballets together plus the evening is going to be very very long ! Has Rojo explained why she made this choice ?
  13. ENB's press release is really not very precise, if my memory is correct Aaron Robison was a finalist in the 2004 Prix de Lausanne but he did not get any prize.
  14. Wonderful debuts from Jurgita Dronina and Aaron Robison this afternoon. Very nice nice show from the whole company ! ENB is lucky to have those two new dancers !
  15. In that case yes, maybe, but none of the "non principal" leavers has been offered a principal position with a bigger company...
  16. yes you are right blackdove that's why I wrote "it seems", it is just (and only) a personal impression
  17. Come on if you are glad with a company and a director you don't move ! No it is a bad sign.
  18. No Mellissa I don't think the board will be pleased neither TR. Part of being a good artistic director is the ability to create a nice atmosphere of work, it seems that Kevin O'Hare is better than Tamara Rojo concerning this aspect. (Sorry for my english...)
  19. Aumeer removed the mention Paris Opera Ballet on his instagram account...
  20. Has Madison Keesler already left ? before the end of season ? she is not on ENB's website anymore...
  21. What impact will the brexit have on ballet/dance companies ?
