  1. There were 3 last year but we're group 2 this year.
  2. There's no better spectator sport than competitive stretching at an audition ???? My dd is usually the one eating!
  3. I wish I knew! My daughter is definitely not hypermobile and has to work quite hard at her flexibility although from reading the other post she has swayback knees and elbows. I did wonder if this went against her last year but she has got through to finals again and I'm assuming they look at last year's physio report. You can drive yourself mad trying to work it all out ????
  4. My daughter did Elmhurst last year. They all saw the physio and they tested for hypermobility (see swayback knees thread, there's some pictures) and she said they had to do a plie in parallel and see if their knees touched the wall. No idea what she means! They did a ballet class and had a tour. The results came in about a week.
  5. I would take them up at the back. It's a neater job if you unpick them and sew them back on at the correct length. Hope that helps ????
  6. We had multiple emails too. One for waiting list non residential, a second for waiting list residential and a third with the correct result. As if one email isn't stressful enough!!!
  7. We've had a year 8 letter, it came yesterday. DD's friend also received one for year 8.
  8. I agree with this, especially as with the CAT schemes you have to attend a couple of evenings in the week. Not always practical when you are working and there are siblings to consider. Even in urban areas it can be difficult just because of travelling at rush hour and logistics.
  9. I buy cheap convertible tights from China via ebay for everyday use. They work out about £2.00 a pair. I then buy good tights (wear moi or gaynor minden) for auditions and special classes.
  10. Manchester RBS auditions are held at Centrepoint in Denton. There's a Premier Inn or Travelodge very nearby. PM me if you are struggling x
  11. Has anyone heard about the November class yet?
  12. Woohoo we've been offered a place! Just need to work out how to get there now ????
  13. We are on yet another waiting list. Seems to be a way of life for my dd ????
  14. I hope yours isnt as unbearable as mine! ????
  15. Primaballerina1 - I hope not as we have applied and my daughter hasn't started en pointe yet (much to her disgust!).
  16. Sorry I couldn't reply earlier we've been away but here's the times: Year 4 boys and girls 09:30 - 10:45 Year 5 boys and girls 11:00 - 12:30 Year 6 boys and girls 12:45 - 2:15 This was last year's anyway x
  17. The car park opposite the Dance House is very reasonable and at weekends the NCP behind it is only £3.50 all day.
  18. I have had similar problems,I'm still waiting for goods ordered weeks ago. Try move dancewear they are very efficient, ring them first to check they have what you need and they'll get it in the post that day.
  19. Definitely not wanting to spend hundreds, although it is very tempting! Needs to be a short tutu for a child (aged 11), probably pink but might be able to get away with another colour. I only need one and don't mind buying 2nd hand if in good condition. I have looked at various makes but it's hard to tell from a picture! It's dds first solo and whilst I'd like her to look good I don't want to spend a fortune for just a few minutes ☺
  20. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced tutu that I can 'fancy' up for a show? Thanks
  21. We took part in heat 1. It was an "interesting" experience and not one we'll probably repeat!
  22. Cecchetti do monthly associate classes in Newport. http://www.cecchetti.co.uk/youngdancers/associates/welsh/index.php
  23. My daughter also got to finals without being an rbs associate.
