  1. I use a stamp. Also means dd can take it to school for anything that we missed. https://stamptastic.co.uk Can stamp the inside of clothing and it doesn't show through, lasts ages. I wish I'd discovered them years ago! They do a white laundry marker too, although it's not as good as the black ones.
  2. I second the commitment being big. We found that we had very little family time and that the holiday intensives were the hardest to manage. It was most of Feb half term, one week of Easter hols and all of May half term on top of the 3 weeks in the summer. Fitting in a family holiday was a challenge at times! During the week we had to be there at 4.30 two nights a week until 8pm. I think I knew every shop in Leeds after a year of hanging about 😂😂 Having said all that it's a brilliant scheme with a really good success rate just go in with your eyes open.
  3. A photo would be great. Shall I pm you my email?
  4. Don't suppose you have anything in white? X
  5. Not sure you'll find much in central Manchester, Move used to have a shop but it closed last year. There is a shop at Centre Pointe, the tram goes that way but I don't know how far the nearest stop is. We live north of Manchester and have always had to travel a fair way for a decent fitting ☹
  6. It's worth keeping an eye on eBay. I've had some real bargains for around a fiver. Even got a brand new Degas for £10!
  7. What about the Gaynor Minden performance tights? I think I've seen them on Just Ballet's website - they have no toe and no heel.
  8. The BRB workshops are lovely. My dd and her friends did a few when they were younger. Usually a bit of a class and then learn part of whichever ballet is on. You get cheaper tickets too! Northern Ballet Academy have an open day arou d this time of year too. I think I've seen it advertised on their Facebook page. The RAD do various one day workshops too.
  9. If it's like my dd's it's probably because it's flexible (hers can be rolled up) and so wouldn't be firm. Depends on the carpet though as she uses it at school where it's more like carpet tiles.
  10. Thank you. I knew someone on here would know 😁
  11. Does anyone know the piece of music that's used for variation 2 in the RAD Advanced Foundation Exam? Thanks x
  12. Brand new Cuban heel character shoes in a size 5. £10 + postage
  13. My dd prefers the Wear Moi silicone pads. They are quite slim and last for ages. They can be washed in soapy water.
  14. I have used Porselli recently and they have always been great. You can always ring them and they will double check the stock levels. I've never had a problem with them - unlike others I could mention!
  15. My dd was on Northern Ballet's CAT scheme, there were quite a few who had to miss the last lesson of the day a few times a week in order to get there on time.
  16. Hi, it's about £8 in a taxi from the station. Also saw you asking for a character skirt, are you able to borrow one? My dd is also doing NYB, pm me if you need any help x
  17. No you've not missed it 😂😂 apparently we will get a schedule soon. You can get the bus from New St to Elmhurst easily or it's about £8 in a taxi x
  18. Do they go to the theatre on the Tuesday? I thought they had to be there on the Wednesday - although I'm so confused about it all that I am happy to be corrected!
  19. Does anyone know what time they have to be there on the Sunday? Also there are some good deals on premier inn only a short tube ride from the theatre x
  20. On a similar note can anyone who did NYB last year help with timings? I could do with booking hotels and trains 🤔
  21. They have RAD classes on a Saturday morning but Y7s don't start them until after Christmas.
  22. I've just checked and it was a Tuesday, the results came in the post on the Saturday. At least you shouldn't have to wait too long 😁
