  1. I tried to but got a message saying can’t receive messages.
  2. I have a spare ticket for the ‘Crafternoon’ at the ROH tomorrow. It’s in the Linbury Foyer 2-5pm and the session is Masquerade Masks with the props department. It’s a paper ticket but I’ll be there so can arrange a hand over. Please send a pm if interested.
  3. Not to mention that these social media sites use algorithms which mean that the host page/account can often see its reach dwindle. I know there’s lots that I miss as the posts just don’t appear in my feeds.
  4. No, I got tickets the day general booking opened. It was just a straight rehearsal with a little interview with the dancers part way through and a Q&A at the end. Leanne Cope compèred.
  5. It was Anna Rose O’Sullivan and Marcelino Sambé rehearsing Romeo and Juliet with Leanne Benjamin. It wasn’t filmed.
  6. Regarding the cast changes – the printed notice had a couple of the dancers’ names misspelt. Apparently, Valentio Zucchetti was replaced by Lukas Brændsroød... I think that tells us everything about how they are treating cast changes at the moment.
  7. @Riva Likewise! Next time... I agree with your comment regarding Ball as Espada – my mum was most impressed by him and she’s not easy to please! I’m so glad I have a ticket for that cast later on in the run, as I think it will be a real treat. It’s good to hear that the first night was so well received.
  8. Yes, there was a fire alarm. The audience were told to stay put until they determined whether to evacuate us, which they did a few minutes later. It was a shame as they only got to the end of Act II because of the time wasted.
  9. I made a mental note of where my seat was from the plan when booking my ticket, which was useful as I found my seat no problem that way. I couldn’t tell you where the actual seat number was, though, because I never saw it and it did all seem a bit dim in there. 😂
  10. I love the different interpretations on here of the music for Uncanny Valley! To me, it sounded like a swarm of bees. 🐝🐝🐝 I didn’t mind Uncanny Valley on the whole, but found the ‘Beam me up, Scotty’ spotlights a tad clichéd and the ‘bucket of gel tipped over the head’ look a bit off-putting. It was as if they had giant slug trails over them. I didn’t read any programme notes so have no idea what the concepts were behind any of the dances, btw... Based on ‘a’ True Story had far too much hand flapping, wringing and ‘Vogue’-ing going on and not enough dance. Circular Ruins had potential but was ultimately ruined by the hideous costuming. It would be worth a second look if the female outfit were to be redesigned. Like others have said, the second half was better than the first – much better and lighter in my opinion. I enjoyed Something Borrowed, music and all; it felt joyously daft and gave me the impression of a crazy, tipsy night out with friends. I liked the expressions on the dancers faces when they were bumping into each other at the back. When it finished I found that I had a big smile on my face. It was the most distinctive piece in the programme. Two Sides Of was lovely and probably my favourite, but it did end rather abruptly which made it seem like a work in progress. The Luke Howard music was beautiful, however, and the choreography complemented it wonderfully. I thought Blue Moon was a bit like watching a ballet class... So, quite a mixed bag but I was glad I went along. It was great to be able to see such a great bunch of dancers so close up and in a much more intimate environment again.
  11. Part of the new/updated ROH website is now being rolled out, albeit still in a limited fashion, to some users. Following a number of posts about it on the spring booking thread, it seems an appropriate time to start a separate thread for discussion and to help those who may be struggling to navigate it.
  12. From your screenshots, Yumiko, it can be seen just how ‘blocky’ the new pages are. Each event takes up pretty much the whole screen. Below is how the What’s On page looks on my phone in landscape. Is there a separate thread about the website? I had a quick search but couldn’t see one.
  13. It must depend on what browser/device one uses as I definitely cannot see any season links at the bottom of the new What’s On page. I usually access the site via a mobile device - I wonder whether I’m getting what is meant to be a ‘simplified’ view.
  14. I’ve been seeing the new site consistently now for a few weeks (the main page and what’s on, thankfully it reverts to the old site once I click on anything else) and so far I have not found it to be an improvement. There are no handy links to seasons at the bottom of the home page or what’s on. You can filter by season but it brings up absolutely everything, not just performances, so you have to filter again and then again to drill down. Or you can look through the calendar, but to see each day you have to select it and then click ‘apply’. You can choose a range of dates to see what’s on but all it does is give you a list of what spans those days, not exactly what’s on for each individual day. Once you click through you have to remember what date it was you were looking at to select it. The old calendar is much better. No matter how much you might filter or what date you select, when you get to the list of what you think you want there’s lots of dead white space and everything set out in huge blocks of large photo-title-date-venue-blurb-more info button which mean you scroll and scroll and scroll endlessly to browse. Not the most efficient way of communicating content. Don’t be tempted to use a phone/tablet in landscape to look at the site – it’s like looking through a letter box as the banner and the ‘see all’, ‘calendar’ and ‘filter’ buttons at the top are so huge. I’ve taken to using the search box as the quickest way to get to what I want, which is fine as long as I know what it is I want! I don’t know how I’d ever discover any new events on there. The other day a feedback box popped up while I was using the new pages so I sent off my observations. I realise websites need updating sometimes, but to trade in the easy to use old site for what could end up a vast white labyrinth doesn’t make much sense to me and I hope there is a serious rethink before any more of it makes it online.
  15. I don’t quite understand Alex Beard’s statement. 38% of tickets had already been purchased by Friends by the time general booking opened (that makes sense) and 17.5% were available to the general public online – what has happened to the other 45.5%? Available in person/by phone? Held back for Friday Rush? Were they online but bots nipped in at 09:00:01 and harvested them? Are they corporate tickets? I have so many questions...
  16. The ROH have posted a little video on Twitter addressing availability and pricing...
  17. As he seems to be standing by the content of his posts, I’m not sure that he’d bother hacking his own account. He’s that arrogant. And there were plenty of irate people who may have taken on the challenge. Either way - the posts were his and he’s certainly not denying them. I think some people may have been hoping against hope that it wasn’t him... I don’t know why some of the above is in larger font... 🤪
  18. The account was hacked and all postings deleted. What was there before (the controversial posts) were his.
  19. I think they must be tweaking it as I’ve just looked and it’s now slightly different to what I described above... Looks like they’ve shifted the bands. I was signed in when I looked earlier – I just signed in again and first night of Spartacus shows £15-£27 lower band as opposed to £12-£21 for other performances. When I sign out they’re all £12-21. 🤷‍♀️
  20. The prices are in the same “band” but when you click on the individual prices within that you can see the different standing tickets highlighted. Amphi and lower slips in the bottom bracket, balcony and stalls circle in the middle one.
