  1. Selling central Balcony standing (D-33) ticket for Carlos at 50 on Friday 28th July 2023 - £14 If interested, please leave a quick note here and send a DM to arrange tkt exchange. Thanks
  2. Hi @Jamiel Devernay-Laurence the poster advertises £45 tickets, but all of the shows only offer tickets from £65 (regular) to £131.97 (stageside). I am confused.
  3. it is painfully slow for me right now. I'm on the waiting bench and timing jumps from 1 min to 11 mins to 8 mins to 11 mins, gets stuck at 9 mins... 😡
  4. My thoughts on the current Triple Bill: Overall, the Royal Ballet dancers are in such fine form, and there's so much insane talent throughout all ranks, that even this underwhelming mix of ballets is somewhat interesting. I truly admire the dancers' efforts and technique. I personally don't care for McG anymore and feel like I have seen it all before in more or less the same fashion. It bugs me that so little of his movement is choreographed to the music that's playing along, or not playing anymore but he still had choreography that he wanted to show despite the music having run out. I really enjoyed his first few pieces for the RB (would love to see Chroma, Limen, Infra back in the rep) and thought Carbon Life was great fun when it premiered. So, I am not totally against McG per se but believe he has run out of anything fresh to add. Also: why was there a Tetris corner piece on stage like it fell out of the sky? It didn't add anything and the dancers studiously ignored it. I was surprised how much I enjoyed Corybantic Games, especially with the first night cast. I don't mind either the costumes or the hair, it all looks rather 1930s French Riviera to me. I think the choreography uses the music well. It may not be my favourite Wheeldon piece but I really enjoyed watching it. Anastasia I find so dark and hard to stomach. Ending the triple bill (and the season) on such a sad note I find quite depressing. I'm just glad I have some more, rather lovely, performances booked before the ballet summer draught. Here's to the Next Generation, Carlos at 50 and Australian Ballet's visit.
  5. Well, McGregor makes A LOT of content during his pieces' creation process and then throws most of it away. The creation in itself is surely interesting whilst challenging for the dancers especially since it is physically very demanding. The part of throwing most of the created choreography out of the window can then get rather disappointing and frustrating for those dancers whose parts are being reduced and/or cut. So, I guess creating with McG can be seen as both an honour and a curse.
  6. Cast in the rehearsal was the same as evening. It suggests that in true McG style rehearsals started late and with choreo being tailored to creating cast that there’s no time to properly rehearse a second cast
  7. The Royal Ballet: Untitled, 2023 / Corybantic Games / Anastasia Act 3 Selling Balcony standing D-32 on Wednesday 14th June 7:30 pm £9 Please send DM and leave a message here. Thanks
  8. The new McGregor piece has a name: Untitled, 2023 When I first heard of this I thought the person telling me was pulling my leg. Yes, it's now published on the ROH website in the triple bill information.
  9. I have it from a very reliable source that they are working hard on the dancers bios and that they should all be back online before too long. The old bios had to be taken down as the links were broken and unrecoverable due to system updates.
  10. Oh, yes, of course, he was an absolutely wonderful Paris too. I first noticed David and Annette in 2013's RBS end of year performance in La Destinée. Stunning! I'm so glad they both got contracts with RB and that we got to follow their career quite closely 😀
  11. I think David Donnelly should always be watched, especially in any of the character roles, he consistently adds something special to his roles. And his Lensky was very watchable too 😍
  12. Wasn't Claire Calvert at Artist or First Artist rank too when she first danced LF?
  13. I'm sorted thanks to a friend's great, timely attention on the ROH website
  14. I’m looking for a central Stalls Circle or Balcony standing for Friday 12th May. I’d also be happy with a ticket share as I’m mainly interested in seeing the Prologue. Thanks for any leads.
  15. I have it from a reliable source that there'll be a new Lilac Fairy making her debut this time round. Not sure I can say who yet but I for one am looking forward to seeing this dancer have a go.
  16. Overall I'm quite happy with next season's offerings, there'll always be pieces included I have no interest in. For example, I'll happily skip The Dante Project, and I hope that Anemoi/The Cellist remains in that order so that I can have early-ish nights by leaving after Anemoi. I feel for the RB Corps ladies with 30-something Swan Lakes, another tour de force for them. Now, I'm eager to find out the ticket pricing structure for the 23/24 season (especially after those recent surveys).
  17. She told me she was only covering. Shame she didn't get a chance (yet) as she looked great for being early on in the rehearsals. On the other hand, some ladies get to dance multiple season fairies...
  18. I think there have been 2 fewer party couples in last week's performances, I have been missing Julia Roscoe in her lovely cream-coloured dress as one of the "lead" couples. However, Julia was in good form in class on stage on Friday morning so I presume she isn't injured and those 2 party couples have been dropped to make space on stage? Has anyone else noticed? Am I imagining things?
