There is no audition but great for any student wanting extra ballet coaching and performance opportunities. The sessions will take place in Holmes Chapel nr Crewe, Cheshire
  3. My dd performed Copellia 2 years ago but unfortunately EYB was not an enjoyable experience for her. It seems however she is in the minority and for most it is an invaluable experience!

  5. Did your dd enjoy herself ' Princessballerina'? My dd really enjoyed it. Good to see you today 'pictures' and your dd!
  6. I know of Bev Edmunds at Dolphin Studios Liverpool. She is an excellent choreographer and my daughter has enjoyed working with her outside of Dolphin. But I do know of a ds who travels all the way from Stoke to Liverpool each Saturday to attend her dance school. Yes KS dance Warrington have an excellent reputation but I have heard that she does NOT allow pupils to attend other associate schemes outside of the dance school. That would be a big no, no for me!
  7. This may be of interest to some of you who live in the Staffordshire area. Nicky trained @ RBS and was an ENB soloist. EXCITING 'GISELLE' WORKSHOP OPPORTUNITY DURING HALF TERM TAUGHT BY RESIDENT SYB TEACHER NICKY HENSHALL. Stoke on Trent Staffordshire, Thurs 2nd Jun. Junior and Senior workshops. Book now & email nickyhensh@gmail.com to secure your place or for more info. Limited places available.
  8. My dd attended 2 years ago aged 11. There were a lot of older dc there so your dd will definitely not be the oldest. The variety and standard of dance shown at the end of week show was amazing. I'm sure she'll have a great time!
  9. Here we go Harwel. Some boys in the Easter workshop! 2 groups from the Manchester team here. One for 'who will buy' and one for 'consider yourself' ????
  10. Hi Hoglett, if you are able to get to Stoke, there is an excellent associate scheme that you don't need to audition for. It runs monthly on Sunday's and is bookable month by month. The teacher is an ex ENB soloist so fantastic teaching. 'Staffordshire Youth Ballet' teaches near Stoke Football ground so easy to get to on A50 from Derby. You can find more info on their Facebook page. Hope this helps!
  11. Good luck everyone ????
  12. Hi, I'm not too familiar with the istd grades but If I had to compare to the RAD grades I would say the grade 3 modern is about right but maybe she should be a little higher for ballet (taking her grade 3) if you say she is a serious dancer. I hope you don't mind me saying but if you say she is a serious dancer, I don't think the hours she is doing a fortnight is anywhere near enough. 3/4 hours of tap a fortnight? And does she attend associate classes weekly or monthly on top of these hours for ballet?
  13. Thanks all. I know Harwel, it's a shame isn't it. This was the senior group and had no boys but the junior group did who did Matilda! Her workshop last week mixed the groups and it was 'Oliver' themed and so luckily boys in both groups. I'll share that once it comes through! There were identical twin boys so they used one in each group to play Oliver! Clever!! You can you tube all 'Stagebox' workshop videos' for those who are interested.
  14. Just thought I'd share this with you all. I'm a Super proud mum this morning. Although not ballet, it's musical theatre which my dd is passionate about. I can totally recommend 'Stagebox' for those with a similar passion. They run workshops in Leeds and Manchester. Entry by audition. My dd can best be seen on the left (with Princess Leia hair) at 1min 43
  15. Amazing news Devondancer!! Well done to your dd. Any funny that it was Copellia my dd was taken from the reserve list. It's a fab production! My dd was a 'work hours' girl and I'm the zjardas (I think that how you spell it) dance. You'll have to let us know what part your dd has. Good luck
  16. Good luck Devon Dancer and let us know how you and your dd get on!
  17. My dd was picked last year from the reserve list. I emailed Janet @ EYB as I wanted to ask what the likely hood of her being picked was and she replied within a couple of hours to say she had done well and that she was 2nd on the reserve list and it was very likely she would be picked. EYB is a lot financially for some people and some children simply just attend the audition for experience or if their child is very good then with the hope of getting the full or half scholarships. So a lot do drop out. I would email Janet as she was very open and honest with me. Good luck to your dd!
  18. I buy tights online through eBay-Katz have their own eBay site but other sellers are good too for pins, bun nets etc. I do buy shoes online too however getting the size right can be tricky so I find going into a local dance supplier store is better! Good luck
  19. DD is very academic and it is so difficult to know if she has any chance of success in the performing world as like Flora says you don't want the academic education to come 2nd if we need that to fall back on!
  20. Oh dear pictures, it would seem that dd is in the 'dog' house! My dd just has no sense of time! She is never 'organised' in that way and it drives me insane! ????
  21. Ah yes Cara, I see it is! I think I went on your link and looked but found it on eBay with another seller and bought from there! I'm sure your dd will be pleased!
  22. Just bought this amazing Capezio bag for my dd. really pleased. Lots of pockets and a good size! http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/331611295560
  23. Lilac, I'm not sure where you live but I know of an ex ENB soloist in the Staffordahire area who offers private lessons. PM me if what further info ????
