  1. I'm sure we will get a response..it's the waiting that is so unpleasant!!!!!
  2. no therefore assume it's a no. DD being stoic!
  3. MAybe we could all wear a red carnation and meet each other???? or carry a folded up newspaper?? or carry a copy of Pride and Prejudice??
  4. wow!! lala, congrats!!! We have heard nothing so I guess that's a no then. Oh well!
  5. starbucks, nero that sort of place will be open. I'm taking a book!!!!!!
  6. dear lovely Swanprincess, you do not need to be emaciated to be a dancer. Dancers need to be strong and fit. I don't know the answer to your question but I DO know that you need to take care of your instrument i.e.your body. Tend to it and love it. Imagine a violinist with the best violin in the world...they would not neglect it but would be gentle and loving. You must do the same with yourself. All the best in your endeavours
  7. 5 years ago my DD didn't have a physio at Tring but was offered a place and on the reserve list for funding. It didn't happen for her at that time. It was the best thing for NOt to go at 11. I am a great believer in things happening for a purpose. (I just need to hold on to that while we are going through this now!!!!!!!!!!!) you may need to remind that I said that, everyone!
  8. Anyone else feeling a bit twitchy during this waiting for results process??????? or is it just me??
  9. good question So Proud!! DD is auditioning there and that would be a useful thing to know!!
  10. DD auditioned for them. Loved it. nothing but positive things to say
  11. welcome mummysue. This has been and continues to be a very helpful place to be with wise people and lovely advice. You can ask anything and someone marvellous will help. They are a FANTASTIC bunch.
  12. Thank you all. My head space is too full to think clearly so you have all been very helpful and practical. THANK YOU
  13. My dd is SO tired at the moment. If it wasn't for GCSEs I would keep her at home for a week. I know it is half term next week but she has auditions , either to do or to prepare for. I feel awful sending her to school .....what a dilemma. any advice???
  14. Oh my!!!!! I feel I need a little lie down now!!!!! The local BTec looks increasingly attractive (to me)!!! If only I knew how to do a spreadsheet................ onward. DD has her next flurry of auditions soon. Roll on Easter. No actually roll on June when the GCSEs are over too.
  15. Not sure if this merits a whole new thread but wasn't sure where to put it.......moderators????? I am just having a panic about the expense of the whole thing..not just the audition fees but the overnights and the train fares. I don't mind and I have seen bits of the UK I had never visited before but I am still coming out in a hot sweat (not because of my age either!!) DD needed new pointe shoes just before this whole thing plus a nice leotard which wasn't faded plus all the other things..new tights etc etc. Add onto that the coffees I have had to drink while waiting. Again, I don't mind for a minute...but my credit card is wilting under the strain. I hadn't considered all these hidden costs, these extras. That's it. Small panic passed on. Thanks for being here, you supportive group you!
  16. I enjoyed it on the whole but agree completely with the food comments and the chip and chocolate moments. It will be interesting to see how it progresses.. DH said that if they (the dancers) are doing all the stuff that DD does then surely they will all get...er...smaller anyway. He was a bit bemused by the whole thing. Would rather have watched Brooklyn99 (or whatever it is called).
  17. I paid £30 for dds. that felt bad enough!!!
  18. Thank you. Driving would have been horrible. Trying not to feel guilty!!!! DD is being marvellous
