  1. https://www.sciencemag.org/news/2020/09/evidence-builds-covid-19-can-damage-heart-doctors-are-racing-understand-it It was this article I read. The Bart’s team do a lot of research into cardiac muscle damage at the best of times so hopefully will get funding/support to carry on their work into covid damage
  2. I think it’s worth remembering that dancers and athletes must learn to listen to their bodies following any illness and not bow to any pressure from teachers to return to training if they don’t feel 100% One of the reports I’ve read regarding myocarditis (from Bart’s research) comments that although they had tested x number of covid +ve patients for myocarditis they have never done a similar study with influenza patients so don’t know how it compares. Any infection can cause myocarditis and the symptoms can vary from tiredness to stage 4 heart failure. Whilst my Dd was at vocational school I used to pay for her to have the flu jab. Although it was no guarantee she wouldn’t get flu I would hope she’d be lucky and therefore avoid any complications.
  3. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/making-a-support-bubble-with-another-household I read it as once bubble established it should stay the same
  4. I’d love to be able to confirm one way or other but in all honesty I’m so confused by everything 🤷‍♀️ Every week there seems to be a new rule at work never mind what’s happening out in the real world

    Room 101

Sounds like my Dd experience of trying to book a driving test
  6. I think Peony was subtly pointing out his lack of knowledge regarding various things. Pharmacist and nurses give most vaccines, GP rarely gets involved.
  7. Much the same Peony. I wait until the government or NHS websites are updated and then hope I can make some sense of the current guidelines.
  8. I read somewhere there will be a PM press conference at 16.00 and as previously has happened I expect the guidance will be updated post that.

    Room 101

I know wasps were added earlier in the year but I’m making sure they go back in to Room 101. It was looking to be a bumper apple harvest but the wasps have other ideas.
  10. My Dd used to used VO5 mega hold gel spray rather than hairspray
  11. New Adventures have announced workshops and performance at Farnham Maltings in September 12th
  12. In addition to @Anna C post above I would recommend checking the penalty clauses if your child withdraws from the school before the end of the course even the established, well known schools that offer DaDA even if you are self funding.
  13. Ballet Boost have associates in Belfast Edited to add that asking the top three will depend on your dancers, what suits one child will not suit another regardless of perceived ranking. My Dd considers @Emma northmore one of the best teachers/mentors she had during her dancing journey.
  14. I think a lot of us are feeling the same @glowlight I live in a rural area and as a county we’ve seen very little Covid but for the duration of the lockdown I didn’t leave our village until we could have ‘bubbles’ when I joined up with my mother so I could take her to hospital appointments. Due to a heart condition I was in the initial vulnerable group (not shielding) and as a front line worker was found tasks I could do from home as employer couldn’t guarantee my safety. Come the beginning of this month and the plan to get everyone back into the work place I’ve found myself back at work unable to socially distance from anyone and consequently not feeling the love for my job or colleagues. Every shift is an exhausting nightmare.
  15. I’m an Apple user but on a thread of messages to either another Apple user or android user if I open a thread of chat and hold my finger on a particular message to highlight it I can then delete, copy, forward etc
  16. And I think you deserve a huge amount of thanks from the dance community too @taxi4ballet for starting this thread and being there for those that have contacted you.
  17. There was someone on the thread that Anna linked into this thread who’s Dd was using the modibodi knickers at vocational school. My Dd would probably have been reluctant to use them whilst at vocational school because of the laundering issues. And in answer to @Peony they come in different absorbencies and Dd happy feels secure in them even on work days.
  18. There were certainly students that joined the third year of sixth form when my Dd was at school. You possibly need to work your way through all the sixth form providers and see if any can offer her the last year of training. DanceEurope has a list of vocational schools
  19. I was heart broken to discover my dd and all her peers were aware too and she said as vocational students you end up losing your concept of what’s right and wrong. It is only since she made the decision to walk away from dance and mix with ‘normal’ people she realised what is so wrong in the dance world.

    Room 101

I put the farmers in room 101 who move pig poo up and down the road all day in this heat encouraging the flies. I’m sure one tractor drives it from A to B and another from B to A.

And can I add all those that think social distancing is a thing of the past.

    Room 101

We’ve noticed an increase in this behaviour. We generally do one of three walks across fields and since the pandemic there have been more poo bags but also a new habit of people discarding wipes in ditches and verges.

Isn’t that what pets are for Jan? To have us just where they need us. Beginning to cool here but still masses of thunder bugs
