  1. My daughter spent 2 years at boarding school, coming home at weekends, and then this year is at dance college in Barcelona for a year. We have a very close relationship, and this continues to this day. We talk & text a lot - we discuss each other's days, and she shares her ups and downs. Open communication, honesty, and interest in each other's worlds are crucial. I was wobbly about boarding and her being so far away. Still, the benefits to her socially, academically and in terms of dance development and networking outweigh my wobbles, and I am very proud of her. Enjoy this new phase in your lives and your relationship x
  2. Hi - I have a student just starting her 3rd year there. She has enjoyed the experience - do you have any specific queries and I can ask her Regards Trish
  3. Congratulations. I have a student of mine there and she is loving the training and the city (even in these strange-COVID times).
  4. @Danceforfun - many thanks - once quarantine has lifted here we can take a look at that - no travelling for us at present!
  5. Hi - just trying to get more information on Edinburgh Festival Ballet. @Ballet-taxi do you have any more information on the full-time school year. I am hearing they have an arrangement with another school? Regards
  6. Thanks - I will have a look at these options too - think I have missed them for this coming year but I will get all the info for next year
  7. Thanks all apologies - yes ROI is Republic of Ireland. I already encourage my vocational students to travel to summer intensives - they get so much out of this. I just wondered if there was some additional monthly training I could find for them to supplement their classes with me. I occasionally have guest tutors here and that works (as we are pretty rural) - so just doing some "out of the box pre-start-of -term thinking 🤪 I'm also doing other CPD on Repertory and Other Aspects of teaching so may do more intensive days monthly for the students myself. Thanks all - appreciated
  8. Thanks Anna - this is brilliant advice. The thread on Edinburgh is for an 18+ student of mine due to go to college this year. My other vocational students will remain at my dance school & their local school and I am looking at Associate training for them. The list is appreciated Great to have "found" this forum 🥰
  9. Hi, I am looking for good options for Associate Programs in Dance with a strong Ballet Focus. I realise we may need to travel to mainland UK for this and at the moment I am just looking at recommendations for likely monthly training sessions. I have 2 vocational dancer students (aged < 16) who would benefit from a broader dance education experience and in being in a larger group environment, possibly as a support in helping them with career choices for the future. I have searched the forum and can see a number of programs out there but would welcome advice. What are the top three? Have we missed entry for the coming year? and are any doing on-line in the short term (although we would be absolutely willing to travel). Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks 🙏
  10. Hi Janet, thanks for those. Appreciated without saying too much - just need options for entry this year. Have looked/progressed both and just wanted any more views on Edinburgh as its so new. Talking to the school and working through other auditions Regards 🤞
  11. Hi - I wondered if anyone has any updated information on this college. Kind regards (1st time poster - dance educator and dance parent)
