  1. Dance-ez have a high cut leg camisole - highest leg I have seen! But maybe only available in black.
  2. Oh I see, sounds good.
  3. What are these Tutugirl? An internal award/competition?
  4. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has a DC going to the Tring taster day on Thursday as trying to gauge what to expect numbers wise. I would imagine not everyone invited will be able to go (more time off schoo/travel/other auditions).
  5. Yes have heard mention of a dada offer.
  6. Tring- Reserve list here too with invite to a taster day ( yet another day off school!) . Well done to anyone on the yes to DaDa list!
  7. I am sure there will be movement Cotes du Rhone on reserves. Congrats to him for getting to this point. BTW Have you had a letter or email?
  8. Thats useful advice Mel- I haven't tackled Student Finance yet so have no knowledge at all.. but need to get going with my other dd's application for university place...could be fun doing two at once.
  9. Deadline for Student Finance seems to be 9 months after start of academic year but you can apply before have confrmed place so I guess if concerned there is nothing to stop you/your DC applying now- could certainly start the ball rolling by registering and seeing what is required.
  10. Yes Taxi, seems that way to me too. I guess those who are really keen on Rambert will hold out til the recall, or those where other options haven't come through but I assume it is unlikely anyone could hold open other offers til this late on.
  11. Re: the Tring funding audition yesterday did anyone get told how soon the outcomes would be sent? I know this was discussed above but wondered if anyone picked this up yesterday? For info for those with an interest in this kind of thing-Tring said that they had 500 applications for upper school ( I guess this must be just the dance course but don't know) and 65 were invited to the funding audition.
  12. My dd is AM so maybe split boys/girls again. I can only imagine that they will have places to offer after the recall otherwise why go to the time and trouble of holding a recall...and there is bound to be a bit of shuffling around from those who have had a straight yes.
  13. Yes I think you are right 2dancersmum- the reserve list sounded a bit tricky last year so at least they are channeling the reserves into one slot with known timescales. I noticed on their website that they have also brought forward final deadline for applications.
  14. Hi Joemill- just checked and DD has the same...and need to do the solo again! Getting a bit fed up of running round the country for auditions! Still its better than an outright no!
  15. Oh dear macnatt, your situation sounds similar to ours. All a bit baffling and glad it hasn't put your daughter off.
  16. Londondance.com have a good directory of all genre of dance clesses in london .
  17. In some cases it may be purely financial- some associate schemes offer significant number of hours training so a dancer may drop a significant number of hours from local school in order to be able to do the associates and just keep up essential exam classes locally.
  18. Sorry to hear that haggis but he has RBS finals I think? ENBS must have been looking with their eyes shut!
  19. My dd went completely out of favour when started associate schemes..( later than your dd, mine was 13) she was never the big favourite anyway but it has been hard ever since and a regular battle to get the right classes and exam entry etc despite the fact my dd gets the highest results for the school. We have had to battle on as it is the only accessible school at the right level. I'd say change school if you can...i have just had to keep polite and persuasive for 3 years.
  20. Congratulations Baliarin- did you dd get finals everywhere she applied? If so, well done! I would say see you in Glasgow but my husband is going with dd not me...
  21. You're right abou thte exam timetable aileen and I have finally managed to find the timetable on school website so have plotted a timetable on behalf of dd that is looking very tight. Have also heard GCSE art is a killer becuase of the amount of prep needed. I expect anyone who has got this far would want to soldier on but I guess always worht considering what has to give.
  22. Thanks for sharing that Bailarin as I was thinking it must just be my dd that is having a struggle. As you say each audition has an emotional impact and it is hard to keep tuned in to everything at once. Teachers and other students are saying they have/should have started revision and my dd just keeps shutting down altogether as she can't find the time to focus on the mountain of work and commitments that she has. Maybe we planned for her to do too much but I had this idea that she would kick in to super organised mode but if anything the opposite has happened. As soon as we get finals out of the way I think we will have to reduce my dd's dance commitments so she can finally focus on her GCSE's but end of March seems a long way away at the moment!
