  1. Hamilton absolutely stunning as Juliet this afternoon. So much detail in her first scene Paris. Manon, Mary Vetsera and Juliet. She is a wonderful MacMillan dancer
  2. Maybe a problem with the paperwork getting into Australia in these difficult times which Alex would not have
  3. I received an email today informing me of this. Priority booking for Dancer’s Circle members opens on Monday.
  4. I thought she was absolutely stunning on Monday night. Instagram postings seem to suggest that she has been advised by Ferri for these performances
  5. Before lockdown BRB would take at least one full length ballet around the country. They did at least 50 performances of Beauty and the Beast and one First Soloist danced Belle over a dozen times. These were scheduled performances. BRB has been the company for talented dancers to join if they really want to get their teeth into major rples
  6. I saw the Saturday matinee there. A superb performance from Yvette Knight as Aurora
  7. Les Patineurs was danced during Xmas/New Year 2018/2019
  8. Just received an email from ROH reminding me that I am attending the (cancelled) performance of The Nutcracker on 31st December.!!
  9. Wonderful illusion of weightlessness in second act pas de deux
  10. Saw her at a RBS open day during her year three. The students were preparing for their assessments. She danced one of Kitri’s solos from Don Q. It was quite obvious that she was a special talent. During lockdown she was prominent in quite a few streaming events
  11. As long as it also contained Symphonic Variations. Belinda Hatley’s farewell performance on the same evening
  12. One dancer probably left handed and the flower had definitely been planted
  13. Lesley Collier received a 30 minute standing ovation after her farewell performance of Giselle. She received bouquet after bouquet until the stage was entirely covered with flowers. A truly fitting tribute to a great dancer.
  14. Now we know why Acosta promoted Yu Kurihara to soloist after only 5 minutes in the Company. She was absolutely sensational this afternoon in her debut as Juliet. From the moment she burst into fits of giggles on her nurses shoulder as Paris departed after their introduction in the first act, one became aware that we were seeing a wonderful actress on stage. When partnered by Paris in the ballroom scene you noticed the tiny shocks to her body as Paris touched her. Then she saw Romeo and you saw her confusion. This was different to the feelings that Paris had aroused in her. This was very much her own take on the role and if anyone is within a few miles of Plymouth on Saturday evening, get a ticket. We have yet another wonderful Japanese BRB ballerina.
  15. Miki first came to the attention of BRB regulars when dancing Humboldt’s Hog-nosed Flea in Penguin Cafe. Her Lise with Lachlan Monaghan in Fille was as good as it gets. Her Juliet last evening was a wonderful debut. Just off now to see Yu Kurihara and Lachlan Monaghan make their debuts in R&J.
