  1. The delightful Marianna. Really looking forward to her Clara
  2. Yes, I remember the great Yelena Pankova dancing Juliet with her, then, real life partner Karl Melnikov I think that was his name
  3. She was a junior associate when she first appeared in La Sylphide
  4. Wonderful memory. Even back then there were quite a number of us who thought we might be seeing someone special. The last time the company danced La Bayedere she was in the pas de action alongside Claire, Fumi and Mayara and looked very much as if she belonged on stage with them
  5. Just received the seat prices for Swan Lake. I used to stand in SC pre pandemic. I could have bought 17 SCS seats for the price of 1 orchestra stalls seat!
  6. An osteochondral lesion on femur. A 1.5 cm whole in the cartllidge
  7. Sad. Got to know him to talk to. Some great anecdotes from him. It was amazing how we would turn up at the same events for slightly unusual reasons.
  8. It was Karla. I was looking forward to seeing Miki in this. A decade ago Miki, together with Karla and Laura Day shared this role. They were all quite new to the Company at the time and Miki really caught the eye and it is no surprise that she is now a Principle Dancer with the Company
  9. A trip to Birmingham to see a magnificent triple bill would have been easier on the bank account
  10. He danced Lescaut at a dress rehearsal a few years ago. He was a late replacement for Zucchetti. His Manon was Hamilton. They were absolutely superb together.
  11. I feel so lucky to have been at both performances and to have been at the Don Q performances I Plymouth last year when Carlos did the same for Miki and Shang.
  12. What a wonderful journey for Julia Roscoe. An adorable 9/10 year old little girl in La Sylphide to a lovely tall Lilac Fairy
  13. I see they have corrected the casting. It is Shang not Zhang dancing with Monaghan in Coppelia
  14. I seem to remember the Collier twins taking a curtain call with their mother while still quite young. In front of the Queen Mother
  15. I was there for both performances. After a few words to the audience Carlos said to Miki, “Miki, please step forward”. The initial look on her face was one of worried surprise. Then he said the magic words. The audience stood and cheered. When he came on stage at the end of the matinee the following day one knew what was going to happen. So happy for these two wonderful dancers who are great friends
