  1. May someone explain the difference between DADA and MDS , when applied to sixth form ? I know that at Tring some keep their MDS into sixth form - is that the same as a DADA or is one better than tother !!?
  2. May I ask where she has gained a place ? I didn't think any results were out yet ? However , I only know of the ones my DS is doing . Incidentally one of my pupils is awaiting Urdang results from Sunday last week . Anyone heard from that one ? We await Elmhurst from Weds.
  3. There was only one group on that day . I think there are 3 such days. No idea how many overseas students, I imagine Mr Parker will see everyone and take the best across the board.
  4. I think there were about 16 girls and 4 boys the other day , but that's only one of the auditions . Afraid I don't know how many go through to finals.
  5. Thanks Hairbelles , it went well despite the taxi traumas !! Not sure what your dds are up to , but all the best x
  6. Perhaps a different thread , but regarding forthcoming Elmhurst auditions - it may be useful to know that today , around 10 .30 am and 11 am , there were no taxis in the taxi rank at Birmingham New Street Station , and a huge queue . Apparently someone ordered a mini cab ( private firm) and it took 45 mins for a 10 min journey , as the driver had no idea where he was going . I told my DS to go to the front of the taxi queue and appeal to folks better nature . This he did , and breezed into todays audition as they started the warm up . Phew . A poor girl fainted in the middle - I do hope she is ok . Anyway , that aside , best wishes to those who have yet to audition ,
  7. Hope all goes well for tomorrows candidates . My DS is going on Weds . As I cant get cover he is making his own way (quite happily ) , but I do hope he pins his number on the right way up !!! At least he doesnt have a hair kit or pointe shoes to worry about
  8. No we are waiting , but RBS and Elmhurst were very quick to reply
  9. Hello pas de chat ! I wondered if anyone else had attended the RBS day - my DS really enjoyed it and found it helpful . Did you watch the class ? I did not , but a friend said there was a mixed range of age and ability . hope your DD soon recovers
  10. Nov 20th for us . Anyone else ? stayed at etap previously - no frills but cheap and cheerful - its now called IBIS
  11. Hi Amandalou welcome to the forum . It doesnt seem a moment since my ds was doing year 7 auditions , and now is doing so again for 6 th form vocational training . it is good to share the experience with others in the same boat , as even DH sometimes tire of ballet talk , or dont speak the language !! I wish your dd every success . I dont think we shall be in the same place at the same time as 6th form auditions are separate , but we shall be covering the same mileage , and perhaps frequenting the same coffee bars. i now seem to be an expert in places to stay/eat in vicinity of vocational schools ! PM me if you like x
  12. Praying and trusting in a full recovery , and for your peace of mind x
  13. Yes a couple of children were offered places from the June audition

  16. Dear Forum Members, Does anyone have an outfit to fit a boy aged 15 suitable for nutcracker prince ? Anything considered at this stage . Happy to buy, borrow or whatever - my DD will otherwise be wearing a trimmed up leotard and black tights. Sugar plum tutu also required for slim 12 year old . Show is beginning of October. We have got a tutu , but it is a little sad ! Many thanks all tutugirl

Its 9 30 til 5 pm Weds - fri this week in keighley . PM me if you wish - tutugirl
  22. I have limited places left on my 3 day course in West Yorks. 31st July- 2nd August. It will be classical ballet , pas de deux ( for advanced students ) and repetoire. classes will be taught by guest teachers from vocational schools . Grade 5 and above , up to advanced - split into ability groups . PM me for further details if interested x
  23. Oh Tinker - don't give up ! A huge accollade to have even been looked at in this extra audition - as many didnt even get through the photo stage . Robert Parker must have seen something in your DS , and you must take heart from that . There were undoubtedly very very few places .Indeed I have only heard of 2 being awarded. Do look elsewhere - in fact I would hazard a guess that Hammond would look at him , even at this late stage , for Sept 2013 , as I know of several children leaving. Good luck - its worth a call x
  24. It seems odd that only one has heard . not doubting your word BillyE - but perhaps any others who know if results are out could put my friend out of her misery ! You can be discreet , but just someone out there let us know if they are out or not !! Choccy ! are you there ? Poor woman will go dimented ! They were all told that it would be early next week when the results were issued , and that was fine - but when you hear that someone else has been informed --- and its a YES --- you can't help putting 2 and 2 together and making 2,795 . thanks everyone x
