Elliepops
Hi Katie, Have completed your survey. Just to say that pointe shoes lasting for six months would bring whoops of joy from the ballet parents here, never mind a year + Most of the traditional shoes are designed to last approx 8 hours in use. 2dancersmum
Completed on behalf of both of my dancers. Agree with Elliepops that the question on time the shoes last is not realistic, although I thought they were designed to last more than 8 hours- i was under the impression that it was about 20 hours. orchidblue
My DD's pointe shoes definitely last longer than 20 hours. Will complete the survey now.

Regattah
I've done it, but I can't help wondering how it can be an empirical or even meaningful study.
anondancer_15
Done! As to those commenting on life of pointe shoes, I've had my current pair since August 2013! Still going strong! But I do less than 1 hour a week.

taxi4ballet
Done on behalf of my dd - with those doing a lot of pointework, it would have helped if there were more options for how long the shoes last eg: days/weeks as well as months as some dancers can get through shoes very quickly.
